I am going through thyroid problems right now myself.. i have an underactive thyroid. I am seeing my doctor every 4 weeks and am on pure vitamins. My thyroid is getting better slowly but surely. most doctors put people on medications right away but i would consider trying the vitamins if you are able to. doing it the natural way may be easier than doing it the medication way. keep your head up! thats what i am trying to do.. Good luck
I've lived with hypothyroidism all my life. Your daughter will be fine. The doctor could possibly give her synthroid to keep her hormones at a normal level. There are 2 types of thyroids. There is Hyperthyroidism, which she can eat alot and not gain the weight. then there's hypothyroidism-which is weight gain. either one can be controlled. she may take it the rest of her life.not sure., but its a small pill Only thing you have to make sure is that, if they do tell her she has to take it. Make sure she doesn't miss any pills at all.
I was born with hypothyroidism they didn't discover till i turned 3. And I'm doing okay.
