Feeling the first kicks?!

Feeling the first kicks?!

Okay so I really didn't imagine this although I don't know if it was the baby or what. I was reading a book and mostly reclined back and I felt a definite like, flutter in my lower abdomen. I've never felt anything like it, I'm 15 weeks and 3 days and I have heard from people you can feel it this early but I really wasn't expecting to at all. I stopped reading and just analyzed what I felt and the first thing I thought was, Am I hungry, was that a tummy rumble? But I wasn't hungry at all but hadn't eaten in a few hours and my stomach felt quite empty. I guess I will know in the coming weeks if that was what I'm thinking it was, but I've never felt anything like that at all, I mean what else could it be?!

So, I just wanted to share that in case anyone else was feeling things like this... Or if anyone with babies wants to give some insight to what it felt like early on, I am really confident that's what I felt though, and I now it's not wishful thinking I felt something for sure, just not sure if it was baby =)

That sounds like it!          Isn't it amazing?

I'm having my third baby, and yet I still get so excited when I feel the kicks that I barely breathe because I'm so scared to miss it !!

Just wait until it gets stonger.        :)       You'll love it!

my doctor asked me at 14 weeks if i thought i felt the baby move, so it is not too early.  i have felt strnage bubbles that are not followed by gas which the doctor very well said could be the baby.  do you get sharp pains sometimes out of no where in one spot like someone poked you from the inside?

I could feel heavy rolling from about 14 weeks but wasn't sure, I asked my oB and she said no way (I don't think she has kids yet). I'm having twins though. Well last week which I was 19 weeks I started to feel proper kicks not hard just like being poked from the inside. Now I feel the fluttering sensation too which I think is when their amniotic fluid is disturbed by their movement.
I have no doubt this is what I was feeling at 14 weeks.

The best way I can think to describe it is when you have wind and a bubble pops inside you. I know we have a lot of wind lately but you get really good at distinguishing what was the wind and what was the baby especially when it happens again in the same place!

Pretty soon you'll be like me and getting anxious when you don't feel it for a while... :))

I am soo confused! I will be 18 weeks on Friday and I've had some Fluttery/Wave like feelings in my belly over the past few weeks but I think I'm confusing them with hunger, gas, digestion etc! Which is pissing me off! LOL because if I feel something I'm like eh I feel like I've felt that before so it must be something else. But I'm like hello I'm almost 18 weeks I should be feeling something by now! And I just saw my doctor Monday and got Caidens heartbeat which was 155bpm and she said he was moving around like crazy! So I figure with all that movement and me being so tiny I would feel something?? It's just making me mad...they say to lye on your back after eating and thats when you feel it the most..but I'm like uhh after you eat, wouldn't you be digesting?? So I'm completely lost..I think I have felt him but I'm just over looking it or thinking its something else. They say that when he flutters you will KNOW for sure and I haven't had that "I know that was definitely him" so I dunno. I guess I'll keep waiting!! But I know people who have felt flutters at 14/15 weeks, so I bet that is your lil baby!

im right there with you, the other day, saturday, i was kinda curled up in a fetus position but sitting down watcing tv and all of a subben just below my belly button i felt what i thought was gas but yet it was different. i waited for the outcome and nothing. usually i get a little pressure and have to shift to let it out but that didnt happen and it always does with gas. BUT im barely 16 weeks tomorrow so i doubted myself thinking its probably not my little one.

like you said Gina, were suppose to just KNOW its the baby, HOW? i have NO idea what it should feel like so they explain its like a flutter or gas bubble well, that narrows it down right? im still pretty early so i can understand not knowing if i feel him/her yet but you at 18 weeks i cna understand going crazy. i just wanna know what it is so i can STOP calling it....IT!!

I don't think you are supposed to 'know' its your baby. It says in my book that the first feelings are often mistaken for gas.

Also the average is 16-22 weeks with most Mums feeling them 18-20 weeks so Gina you are just on the edge of that. I only started to feel the kicks (bubbles popping) at 19W3D and I have two in there and I am also very tiny. Before that I felt the rolling and my stomach would go all hard and then soft again. When I feel that now it hurts a bit and I assume they are both adjusting their positions rather than kicking so I know that wasn't wind I was feeling when I first felt it I couldn't be sure.

I have been feeling baby since 14-15 weeks. I am now 17w1d. However this is my 4th baby so my uterus is so relaxed it is easier to feel. I feels like gas to me at first but a little different. More fluttering than a quick gas bubble... This is defintely the most exciting part of being pregnant!!

I have been feeling my babies very occassionally since around 14 weeks. This is my fourth pregnancy so I imagine things are quite relaxed and with the twins my uterus is probably closer to a 16 week pregnancy at that time. It happens so quick I too catch myself holding my breath scared to miss it. I am being greedy and still waiting for that good solid kick though but it is nice to know that it all could very well be from the babies. If this is your first baby I wouldn't worry to much - I didn't feel anything from my son until 21 weeks or so - it was crazy to watch him flip all over the place at the 18 week u/s and I didn't feel a thing!!!! As long as the docotors are finding a good strong heartbeat you haven't anything to worry about!!!!!!!!

I can't really feel anything yet (I'm just over 16 weeks), but when I lie flat and hold my breath my tummy moves - like it's got a life of its own.... and if I rest my hand on my lower tummy I can feel movements too...

Think this bub of mine is super active.

I am on my fifth pregnancy and I am currently 16 weeks and 4 days. I have been feeling my little froot sak ( silly little name for our precious baby ) for about 3 weeks now. It started out as a butterfly like feeling. Now it is so definite that it's crazy. I am loving every minute of it.
