Just wondering if anyone is planning on becoming pregnant again within a year of giving birth to this baby? I want to have at least 2 more kids after this one, and DH and I are talking about getting pregnant with the next one 7 months after we have this one...
Do you think I am crazy?
Does anyone have any ideas why I should or shouldn't do it?
I am trying to think rationally about this and write a list of pros and cons...
I already have 2 kids that will be turning 8yrs and 5yrs within a month of me giving birth to this bub.
Good for you!! Hubby & I too would like another baby soon after this one. Not only do I feel like I'm getting "up there in age" not that 26 is old by any means but I've always said that I wanted most of my children before age 31 so we would like another baby or two within the next couple years. Although I know when I am in my 30's I am going to miss having a baby around and I'll be that woman who is like 36 years old and Pregnant with a 10 year old at home! My mom had her first baby when she was 25 and her last when she was 39...I think she missed the baby stage too. I have so many thoughts on it though..like I dont want to be in my mid 50's and dealing with the high school phase like my mom is now with my brother. But than again I love being 10 years older than him, we get along so great and it was cool growing up. Then again I want my kids close in age too so they can play with each other..but than I think about when people say "it's like having two babies in the house" and how hectic that can be. But than I think, ya know its only hectic if you allow it to be.
I also thought that having a baby too soon after would take the attention away from Caiden. If he is under 2 and I have another baby...you know everyone goes crazy for a baby..so I was thinking about that two.
But as weird as it sounds I've always wanted a Winter and Summer baby. Caiden is my Winter and I'd love a Summer baby. So if we got Pregnant in October/November would definitely be a summer baby. And by then Caiden would be almost a year. So for right now thats what we'd like to do! But just like anything else, things change and they might especially change after we have Caiden! But I dont think its crazy at all to have baby after baby, I think its great!
We definitely want more, but just not right away. I think we'll mostly be playing it by ear because i have no idea what labor and delivery will be like and I've wanted a lot of kids since I met my husband but all that might change after this baby gets here. so who knows!!! I really can't imagine stopping at just 1 though. I love lots of kids and I think every kid should have at least one sibling.
as long as there are no complications during birth and you talk to your doctor, it does not seem like a bad idea as long as it is something you want.
i am like Gina, i def do not want to be pregnant after the age of 30. i have no idea why, it is just something i always said, "I will have my baby or babies before 30." i have no specific reasons at all just something i want. i do not think i want another one back to back. i am still deciding if i want another. the fiance wants another but i was always content with one. who knows. i know he will try his hardest. i just could not bear going through any more losses like what happened prior to this pregnancy.
With the 30 years old thing, I actually think the same way (not that having a baby later is bad!)
I am 23 now, and set to have first baby...I don't really want to do any kind of birth control (except maybe a condom) and I really hope our babies are close together in age. At 3 or 4, we will more than likely stop. So maybe a more permanent form of bc then?
Has anyone given that any thought?? OT, but what are you ladies planning on doing for when you are really and truly done? (for some reason, a vasectomy isn't something I want dh to have).
Wow. It is nice to get so much support! I thought that I would get at least a few people telling me that I'm crazy and it is too hard on mother and sibling..
I'm glad I asked here first, because I know how critical mum will be when I tell her. I might just wait until I'm already pregnant again so that she feels less able to criticise my plans...
Thank you all for the positive responses and support!!
ur not crazy if u could afford it why not. if this baby is a girl i will not want anymore lol maybe within a few years, but if its a girl it would be a very good thing i start school back next summer, and i just want to finish my nursing degree and take care of my two kids my kids will be shy of 16 months apart, so its going to be hard. and i figure if it is a girl hopefully, then i will have an iud and not have anymore children my dh has two previous son from another marriage. so one girl would make us complete. and i could start on my career and by time im done my kids could go to preschool and be much older and life will be soo much better. i cant afford lots of kids or else i would have more
I would like to be pregnant by the time this baby is 2 years old. My hubby thinks I'm crazy but my sister and I are 4 years apart and that is too much for me. Hubby and his siblings are all 3 years apart and I don't want to go more than that many years apart. So assuming things are ok with us financially and with the baby, hopefully hubby can come through also!
I would like to comment on the 30 year old thing. LOL seeing that I'm 31 and will be 32 with my 3rd child. I was 26 with my first and thought then i was to old for my first baby but it took us about 3 years just to fall pregnant - then another 3 for my daughter - i was then 29. Now at 31-soon 32 this is the best pregnancy ever. I am so much more relaxed - my son is 5 in school my daughter in kindy 2 x a week and i will have baby keeping me busy at home. When my son was 4 months i desperately wanted to fall pregnant soon but things did not work as planned and I'm glad it didn't - by 18 months he started with terrible 2's and having another one then i think would have driven me mad.
It all depends what works for you and support - good luck to all the YONG (lol) pregnant ladies.
I am planning on getting pregnant again as soon as I can after this baby.... ie. I'll be breastfeeding, but won't use contraception so I guess if all is normal I should get pregnant once this baby is starting on solids.
If you want to have your kids close together and you are healthy, and able no problem. Go for it, I'll join you! :)
my husband says if we won the lotto, we would have like 5 more. We're actually goin to see how we are finacially after this one ane maybe have one more. We're so sure were having a girl this time. We do have my 13yr old son..and he's just fine with that, but I know he wouldn't mind having a boy of his own that he helped create.
Well, I'm right there with you! LOL I'm so wanting more kids. I keep telling myself "NO MORE, I can't handle puking for 10 weeks straight...but it's 10 weeks out of 40!! I tried getting my tubes tied when I was pregnant with the twins. But because I wasn't married and I was under 25, they couldn't do it. Here I am, 24 and 18 weeks pregnant with our 4th child. Just the other night, my husband told my Mom he wasn't done having kids. I really had a hard time talkingto him about having this one. I'm not sure if he was joking around or what, but I wouldn't mind more. LOL I love being pregnant, I love babies and I love my doctor. LOL Only problem is, we live in a 3 bedroom trailer and I'm having a hard enoug htime walking in my kitchen with three kids holding onto my pant legs and openingthe fridge. LOL My family (Grandmother thats a Mother of 6 and some Aunts) seem to have a problem with me wanting all these kids. Seriously, my grandma has no reason to open her mouth. She did it, and I don't ask for any outside help, so nobody should worry about us. We're fine :)
But I'd tell ya to go ahead and do it :) I would if I knew I had room for all my kids. I'm opening my own business in Muralism and hopefully can get started ASAP!! I hate not having money! LOL (My own money, we have DH's but not for me...)
Do what is best for you and your husband and what you want out of life for yourselves and your family. I always feel comforted by the fact that even though my husband and I will be gone someday our boys will still have each other and one anothers families.
