Pregnancy concerns

I have know I ma pregnant for atleast a week now, I had blood tests done and it said that I was around 5 weeks pregnant, I then had an ultrasound because I was concerned of some crampings I have been getting as I had a misscarriage about 5 months ago, the ultrasound was done 3 days ago, and there was no heartbeat, is this normal, when should I see a heartbeat, I am going for another scan in 3 days. Also is this cramping normal, I am getting very worried, I have been to see different doctors but they are all telling me the same thing...

The baby's heart beat can be seen on an ultrasound at around 7 weeks, and if you are very slim MAY be heard on a doppler from 9 or 10 weeks. Most Heartbeats can be heard by 15/16 weeks...Stretching uterus - As your body prepares for it's new baby your uterus will stretch and expand. The ligaments that support the uterus will stretch and with this stretching may cause mild cramps....

This is what was on a wedmd website!   I am sorry to hear about your past miscarrage (miscarriage)..and it sounds as if whoever gave you the ultrasound is not re-assuring you!!  You need to ask quesitons from your doc...use this next scan to your advantage...they are the experts. I hope that you find a doctor that you can trust....

Use the internet, there is so much information out there...just type a question in google...also there are discussions about everything on yahoo!!

iv had 3 m/c im now 22 weeks pregnant, i had a scan at 5-6 weeks and baby didnt have a hartbeat but there was a fetal pole i had anouther scan at 8 weeks and ther it was a strong little hartbeat!!! its normal so dw by 7-8 weeks there should be a hartbeat good luck x

I just wanna thank you for the information you have given me :) I have had another ultrasound, and I messured to be 5 weeks and 4 days, they did see the actual baby in the sac and seen a very very faint little heartbeat flickering, so I am happy and more at ease :) I am due the 13th June 09. I am very excited, so is my partner..
