iwas induced for  both my kids  and i have to say it  wasnt fun  to behonest not to scare u .  Are u planning on having  no pain med  or  going with the pain med?

For me it  started  off  slow both  times  cause they   increase the pitocin  gradually  over time until they  get s steady  labor pattern   i dont  really remember to  much cause i am not a  fan of  pain  but i  survived through   THe  contractions  started off like period  cramps and then  got stronger and  stronger over time until i  go tmy  epidural . then  after that it wasnt so  bad
Sorry i   couldnt be more helpful. WHy areu  being induced at  38 wks? may i  ask ?
well i wish u the best luck  if there is anything  else i can help u with  or  tell u about my past experinces let me know  Good luck

I was not induced, but I hear sometimes it can be stronger. No matter whether your induced or go into labor naturally.... IT HURTS!! lol... I have my kids naturally since my labors are so fast, but remember there is always the epidural if it gets too much. Good luck!!

I was induced with my 1st, he was9 or 10 days over his due date. I was having contractions on my own but i did not dialate. So I was induced pitocen for 14hrs no epidural or any pain medication " i only dialated 3cm" Its very very Uncomfortable, I recomend epidural.. Good luck

I've been induced twice now and am scheduled for my third on the 30th Jan.

You can get a partial epidural (light dose) that takes away a good deal of the pain but still allows you to feel when to push.

That is what I had with my second, and I was able to get up straight away after the birth and shower and walk.

I highly recommend it!

Honestly, when I was induced for my twins, it was SO MUCH better for me in the long run.  I was exhausted like you would be if it was all natural.

With my son, I was contracting for 18 hours before my cervix even changed alittle.  VERY PAINFUL and exhausting time for me and my husband.  After having my son (all natural birth, no drugs), I couldn't walk for almost a week, I had to lay with 8 pillows propping me up because I couldn't lay flat.

The twins, they took me in at 6am, prepped me, started potocin at 7am!got to 210 drops per minute until I couldn't handle the pain.  Broke my water at 9am (6cm) and was pushing by 11:30am...it was just so much better!!   I was walking and carrying my girls around 5 minutes after having them :)  It was PERFECT!

So, yes the contractions are alittle intense, but that's what the drugs are for if you're planning on having pain relief.   It seriously wasn't bad for me until they broke my water.  I think you'll do amazing!!  I'm hoping my cervix if favorable a week or so before my due date so I can get induced.  :)  I asked to be!!  Just better over all I think!!  Good luck
