I didn't do acupuncture during my 4 IUIs and they all failed. I started it a few weeks before my IVF and continued it once a week since then (now 9 weeks pregnant). I don't know if it helped or not, but there are actually some scientific studies that point to its usefulness. My acupuncturist doesn't take insurance but I got statements from her and sent them to my insurance company myself and they approved them! Best wishes on your FET :)
I started going to acupuncture after my miscarriage and have been going for a little over three months. I'm not pregnant yet, but it is calming. I went in crying today and came out feeling a bit better.
As for insurance--it totally depends on your insurance company. Mine will cover acupuncture (from a contracted provider) but does not cover infertility treatment (only diagnostic tests). My acupuncturist offered to put down that I was there for PMS but I got worried about the karma aspect (I'm an anxious person, what can I say) so I pay out of pocket.
I too heard about accupuncture... does insurance cover this?
I'm having accupuncture twice a week now. Don't know if it's successful yet. Another week to wait! :) But I feel good!
I started about 6 weeks ago after a failed ivf (chemical)..I am now on ivf #2 and seeing the accupunctrist up until beta..also started chinese herbs and dhea! I was willing to try anything! I think the acupuncture is really relaxing..i look foward to it..
i started with accupuncture right after my first IUI failed in Feb and have been going weekly since. I love it. It's relaxing and it's like therapy too. If you go to someone that deals with infertility specifically it's even better because they know exactly what you need and when. My accupuncturist even told me what i should be eating at the different times of the month and what vitamins i should taking etc. I just did my first IVF. I also got accupuncture the day of my transfer. Right before the transfer and right after. I had my transfer last thurs and just this morning got a faint bfp. It's faint and very early to be testing but i took an HPT yesterday and there wasn't even a hint of a line so i hope this is it! Hopefully, the line gets darker as time goes by. I will definitely continue with it even if/when pregnant. Good luck!!
I didn't hear that about celine dion but that is amazing! good for her!!
I am having acupuncture once a week at the moment, not using IVF yet, but I understand that it really help with IVF, let us know if you decide to go ahead, maybe we could start an acupuncture group :)
I consulted an acupunturist, and he said to come see him 3 weeks before transfer 2x's a week. I am soooo There!!!!! : 0 )
