What do you think fsh of 12 on day 3

I thought you ladies would be able to help me on this.......  I have been trying for years to get bfp.  I do have two other children so I really thought it would happen when it happens.(now I'm feeling very stupid)  My youngest is seven.  My TSH is 3.37 and two years ago on synthroid it was 1.23. Prolactin is at 4.8.  Is there any hope for me.  I think my doc will do the clomid test next.  I'm in shock.  Any input postive or not would be greatly appreciated. Sending Lots of Well Wishes Your Way as Always!

I put it off but now I think I'm finally ready to get it out of the way.   All along I've been thinking it's not a tube problem because I did get preg and m/c last sept.  I like this new Doc so I have to trust she  knows better.   Thanks again!   I hope you're feeling well.  When do you go to the RE again?   Hope  it goes well!

Also, the HSG sometimes clears things out and the person gets pregnant right away.  They recommended to me to bd the night of (not night before) the HSG.  So, you may want to do that!  Don't get all worked up over the HSG.  Some people do fine with it and some people say it is awful.  Take 800mg Motrin 30 minutes before you get it done.  Even if it is unpleasant, it does not last long!  Take deep breaths.

I know.  I am not sure if they will make you wait or not.  My guess would be that they would make you wait.  They want to make sure your tubes are not blocked.  If your tubes are blocked, they will correct that and maybe not put you on clomid at all.  They usually do the HSG on cd10 or cd11.

I don't know if she did the AMH?!  She said all my other Blood work was fine.   I am scheduled for HSG next month. ( I am very afraid of this test.)  She was going to do it next monday or tues but we already bd so I have to wait.  Can I start the clomid on the same cycle as the HSG  or do I have to wait yet another month.   I feel like all we do is wait for this then wait for that!     Thank You~ Many Well Wishes Your Way

Most REs would start you on clomid first.  It is the least expensive and less time-consuming.  I believe you should try it first, unless other tests like HSG and/or endomtrial biopsy come back showing other signs.  My suggestion is to have those 2 tests along with the cd3 bloodwork.  They also need to do an AMH count on you.  That is where they see how your egg reserve is.  Once they do those tests, if FSH level is the only concern, I think you should try clomid first.  If something comes back from the other tests, they will tell you what you should do.  My only problem was my FSH level and I tried clomid first.  I probably would have tried it for another 3 months if I was younger.  At almost 40, we need to get things in gear.  :)

Good luck!  I wish everyone the best!

Thank You!  I have some!     When I talked to my Re she said that she would be more concerned if my fsh was above 12.5  and that I was in the "range"  I want to believe her but everything I've read seems to say otherwise.    What do you think?    Thanks Again Sara

There are a lot of good articles on DHEA as well. It is really helping some women achieve a much lower FSH level. It does take 4 mos to get the effects of it, but if it does what all of the reports say, it is worth it.

It sounds like your new RE is much more thorough.  I just started going to an RE this month when my Gynos office said "they don't do FSH day three testing"(At first they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about)     I'm so glad I finally switched.   Hopefully I'll get somewhere with the new Doc too.   Please keep me posted on your progress it sounds really good to me!!!  Sometimes I take a break from reading the posts because I just wish everyone a happy outcome and its heartbreaking but then just when we least expect it Those babies make their way!!  Many Many Well Wishes Sara

I thought it was working.. 3 months ago it was the highest ever at 12, then I started the wheat grass and it went down to a 7.. then it went back up to 11 this month and I am still drinking the wheat grass.. so who knows?  BUT, its good for you and it can't hurt, right?  Whatever it takes, ya know?

Im alot like Angie.. my FSH fluctuates between 7 and 12.  Last month it was 7 this month it's 11.  I've been drinking wheat grass to try and see if that helps.  My RE said as long as it doesn't go above 14 I am good to go.  I start IVF next month, so I really hope it doesn't go up.

Oops.  Forgot to tell you this.  I only did clomid for 3 months.  They will not let you do it for too long.  I am not sure what your RE would recommend.  Injections are VERY expensive.  I was shocked over that!  Don't worry though, they have all types of things to help people out!  Good luck

I hear the chances of success are higher.  I also did 2 IUIs and they say that increases your chances too.  I ovulated on the day of my 2nd IUI while I was sitting in the waiting room.  20 minutes later, I was having my 2nd IUI.  So, timing is not a factor this time and I think it was in the previous times.  My old RE did u/s only on cd12.  My new RE did u/s on cd3, cd6, cd8, cd10.  I had my IUI on cd11 and cd12.  So, the old RE would have missed that one too.  My new RE triggered me when the follicles were the size she wanted.  They monitor me a lot closer.  I am 2 months shy of turning 40 and that is why my FSH level is elevated.
I will find out next Friday.

I hope you have success this time around. I have a good friend that had a baby using the injections.      I had a  miscarriage in sept. and that's what made me think I should investigate things. I was not prepared for all this. I am still shocked!    Thank you again for your input!

No, I don't know what that is.  The clomid did not work at all for me on the 1st cycle.  2nd cycle, I developed 2 follicles:  26 and 15.  3rd cycle, I developed 3 follicles:  28, 27, and 17.  I did not realize that the follicles were actually too big, other than the 15 and 17!  They should be between 18-24 according to my new RE.  So, I felt like I wasted my time and money with clomid.  Truthfully, I believe it was because of the old RE, not the clomid.  My new RE said we could try it one more time because it appeared to be working for me, we just needed to catch them before they got too big.  I opted to go to the next phase of treatment since my heart was shattered by each unsuccessful try.

Thank You.  I wasn't sure with a number like mine they would even try clomid.  Did  you have the clomid challenge test before starting the clomid?

I do not know anything about the levels you gave above other than your header.  You said your FSH was a 12.  Mine was a 10 and they said that is elevated.  12 is not bad though.  After 15, they start to get really concerned.  At 20, they say it is impossible to get pregnant.  I did clomid for 3 cycles without success.  This month, I am doing follistim injections.  They said it can change month to month though.  I had one done in November and it was a 10.  I had one done in May and it was 4.2.  So, I am not sure if the meds change it or not.
