? for those who have done injectables with clomid or femara

Hi girls. I'm starting my first femara/menopur cycle today, and was wondering if someone could help me. I'm taking femara on days 3-7, and a 75 IU shot of menopur on days 3, 5 and 7. So today (CD3), I'll be taking both a femara pill and a menopur shot. My question is, do I take them both at the same time (i.e. both in the a.m.)? Or do I take femara in the a.m. and the shot in the p.m.?

Yeah Thurday the 18th is CD12 for me, so we are 1 day apart..cool!!! We wil both have 2 different FSH's running through us, SOMETHING has got to pop out and get fertilized!!! Come on eggies!!! ( **doing a dance**) So, I didnt think I needed my Novarel shot from last cycle but, my RE told me to take it with me Thursday, so my upper thighs and my butt cheek will be sore!! All for a good cause though!! :) Later!!

Thanks, Tina! I was just a bit nervous about the shots, so I probably freaked myself out more than anything...LOL! Hey, we're almost on the same schedule! I have my CD12 sono on Friday of next week! Hopefully, we'll both be ready for trigger...and then a big ol' BFP two weeks after that!!!

The Follistim shots, which I start this Sunday, my RE said to do them at the same time each night (cd 8,9, an d10). The other shot I have been doing was Novarel and my RE always told me to do it between 6-9pm, so I always did it at 730pm.

Heather5~~~Honey, I did NOT mean to freak you out!!! SO sorry!!! :o

I will also be getting a Novarel shot Thursday morning )next week (cd12) after my morning u/s to check my follies after Femara 3-7 and Follistim!!

Hi bny! From what I understood when talking to the nurse earlier, it's more important to take it at the same time every day (or every other day, in out case) then what time of the day you take it. So, I'm not sure, but I think I would bring it in to work with me, if I were you. Would you be able to do it at work?

Do yall all take the injectable at the exact same time each night? i typically do, but gotta go to work tonight and wandering if i need to take it in and do it there instead of taking it 3 hours earlier than i did two days ago?? THANKS!

OK! Finally got a hold of the nurse, and she said it doesn't matter when you take the shots  as long as you take the next one at the same time. She said it was perfectly fine to take the femara in the morning and the shot at night. Phew!

Well, CD3 is soon coming to an end, so I went ahead with the shot by itself tonight. I hope that's OK.

Bny: If you do remember to ask your RE tomorrow, could you please let me know what he says? I'll try to call the nurse again tomorrow too. At least tomorrow I only have femara to take, so I can't really mess that up...

Thanks, everyone, for your posts...and if anyone else know how to take either clomid or femara with injectables, I'd love to hear from you!

Yikes! So does that mean I've already messed up then? I took the pills this morning and was going to take the shot tonight. Should I not take it and wait until my next pills tomorrow morning? When your RE said even 30 minutes off schedule is bad, did he mean 30 minutes off from when you've been taking the meds previous days (so make sure you take it at the same time every day)? Or did he mean that 30 minutes between taking the femara and the injectable could be a problem?

Oh man, I'm not sure what to do now...

Yes, to answer your question. Take them at the same time. My RE says even 30 min to an hour "off" scheduke is not good! So, before yougo to bed or whenever you have been takingyou Femara, take the shot along with it. I am doing Femara (round 4) and Follistim Shots this cycle and thats what my RE told me yesterday! Hope this helps!

I took clomid on days 3-7 but it didn't work for me. So my doctor put me on Repronex for days 11-17. Then on day 18 I took my trigger shot. Everyone is different so I'm not too sure how it works for you. Since I took my pills at a different time than the injections, I wouldn't be able to help. Sorry!!

But I'm wishing you the best and SSBD your way!!!!!

Thanks! I think I will do that too then! I took two pills earlier today, so I'll probably just take the injections at night. I actually left a message with the nurse at my doctor's office this a.m. too, but she never returned my call. I love my RE, but sometimes, I get a little frustrated with the nurses. Seems like I always have to keep calling them, even though their voicemail say they will return all calls after 2 p.m. Oh, well...

Guess I'll just have to go with my guts :-)

So I guess the two of you both started your injections yesterday then, and I'll be starting today! Hopefully we'll all have something to celebrate in about 3-4 weeks!!!
