2 IUI's a month vs. 1

Hi everyone. Happy Halloween! So I just called to schedule my first cycle day 3 ultrasound. I asked the nurse about when she thinks my first IUI will be. She asked if I was doing 1 IUI or 2. I told her I thought they only did 2 IUI's a month. She said they prefer to do 2 a month, but sometimes people can only do 1. Does anyone know if the success rate is higher if you do 2 IUI's a month instead of one?

I think I have had a few cycles where I don't end up with cysts, but most of the time I end up with little ones that they do not worry about and I can continue with new cycles.  This past cycle I had one cyst measuring less than 3 but the doctors were not concerned so I started another cycle.  My IUI should be somewhere around Nov. 11-13...how about you?

I asked my RE today about why he wants me to do 2 IUI's each cycle instead of 1 and he said it's better for a low sperm count. I guess that's all I needed to hear. I know it's common to get cyst while taking infertility meds, but have any of you had cycles where you dont get cyst? I am taking Gonal F injections 150units a day.  I will take Ganirelix also toward the end of the cycle and then Novarel for the trigger shot.

i'll be getting AF any day now as well so we'll all be close to the same cycle. I'm starting my 8th round of IUI. This will only be my second with follistim injections. I usually do two IUI's a cycle because we cannot help the process with BDing because my husband has no sperm. I didn't do IUI last cycle because of a cyst so I'm hoping AF arrives so to get this baby making started!!

Good luck to you with your next IUI and congrats on your son. I'll be taking clomid with the trigger shot. I'm going to go ahead with 2 IUI's this cycle. What meds are you taking? Do you know when your IUI might be. I hope we both get a BFP this cycle. Keep me posted :)

I am on my third IUI cycle now and it looks like we will be close to the same timing.  I had my day three baseline and ultrasound two days ago so we will be going through a cycle together.  Is this your first IUI ever?  I got pregnant a few years ago with one IUI and I have a wonderul 22 month old son.  I hope all goes well for you.  Do you know what meds you are taking?

I'm sorry AF showed up. Hopefully this next cycle it'll stick. I think for our first one well do 2 and then if we have to do a second one we might do one. When did AF come? We might be on the same cycle. AF just came for me yesterday. Good luck

Hi Bree! I read online it doesn't help that much to do 2 IUIs maybe 5 percent more. My dh and I are going to do our 2nd IUI because A/F came this month, which ***** but I'm not losing hope. We only did one IUI and were only going to do one again not 2. Were paying cash for everything so it is better for us to do one.
