23 and can't get pregnant

Hello docter! I'm 23 years old and me and my fiance have been trying to get pregnat for alittle over a year and i have yet to get pregnant!MY question for you is since i was sexualy abused at the age of 4 could that be one of the reasons why i have yet to get pregnant???????????

i am sorry for your past trauma, although it probably has nothing to do with it.  have you spoken to your doctor about getting pregnant?  many women have something simple going on with them that causes them not to get pregnant and a doctor can diagnosis it.  many insurances will pay for it if you have been trying for a year with no sucess.  have you been tracking your ovualtion and everything?

I agree with leighanne in that our past shouldn't have anything to do with your inability to concieve (conceive).  I guess the first questions would be do you have regular cycles and are you doing anything to try to determine if you are ovulating, such as ovulation predictor tests (OPK) or temperature charting (BBT)?  If not, you may want to start there.  Also, after a year of trying, it is usually recommended to see a doctor.  They will start with basic bloodwork to check your hormone levels and then do a dye test or ultrasound to see if you have any abnormalities (like blocked tubes).  It would also be a good idea to get your fiance tested.  A semen analysis can be a little embarassing for our men, but it's relatively simple and inexpensive.  If you have any questions, let us know.  Good luck to you!
