2nd Round of Clomid

I met with my Doc yesterday and the 1st round of clomid did not make me ovulate- the progesterone was too low to indicate ovulation and a negative pregnancy test sealed the deal.  So, I am a little sad but doc said not to be discouraged and that we are going to try round 2 with 100mg Clomid.  I am super irregular so I have to wait 1 week to see if AF shows up.  If not, they will induce a period with progesterone and then I will try Clomid on days 5-9.  So, this time- with the help of all the fine ladies in this forum, I am going to be more efficient and start tacking BBTs.  I have also had some good suggestions like using Pre-Seed and Mucinex.  Any thoughts on this?  Also- how have any of you been able to make sure you don't make DH feel like a piece of meat?  I love DH, he is very supportive but I don't like saying "Come on over baby (whether you want it or not) because I might be O'ing".  Also, I told my family that the 1st round failed and that I am waiting a few months to try again because it was kind of painful when to hear the doc say it didn't work and then get 5,000 phone calls asking if you are pregnant.  Not making that mistake again!

I know a lot of women have had luck with Clomid, but my RE (who is absolutely brilliant) does not recommend it. He says if Clomid dries you out, to use just a drop or two of baby oil on dh. If your set on trying preseed, that's fine, but I just wanted to let you know that.

Your RE is against Pre-Seed, not Clomid, right?  I am not set on trying pre-seed- just want to make sure I am doing as much as possible to help my situation.

Hahaha! Yes, typo there...pregnancy brain, maybe? My RE discouraged using preseed. He actually prescribes Clomid quite a bit. Sorry for the confusion.

I found out that evening primrose oil is supposed to help regulate your hormones and also help produce good CM (without evil chemicals... because I'm sure we're all taking enough of those via Clomid etc!)  I assumed for the CM thing that it had to build up in your system, so I've only tried it once, with one dose of 1000mg, and lets just say I determined that I could use it around the day of ovulation and get IMMEDIATE CM results!  But like I said, I only tried it once, but I think this round of Clomid (my second too) I'm going to start using it when I'm done with af - supposedly you're not supposed to used it while you have af - but just google evening primrose oil and I'm sure you can find lots of info on it.  Also google infertility herbs and you may find some other useful ones - good luck!

My Doctor just got me on the 2nd round of clomid went from 50 on round 1 straight to 100 on round two.... I am also very very irregular and have pcos, I can go 3-4 months with out a cycle so I was not expecting that miracle of ovulating and getting pregnant on round 1.... So I am a little more hopeful going into this second cycle and im hoping that this extra amount of clomid is what I need.... My doctor told me that any lubrication that I want to use is fine as long as its Water based and has no oil... I definetely need lubrication on clomid it becomes very painful since it dries you..... So ky and astro glide are all perfectly fine....
