3 Day and 5 Day Transfers
For those who are on their TWW and want to know what is going on in there here is a list for 3 and 5 day transfers.

This is what happens in a 5dt:

-1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
0dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
1dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
2dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
3dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
4dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
5dpt.. Morula is completely implanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells
6dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
7dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
8dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
9dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

this is what happens in a 3dt :

OMG!!!!! I could not wait to turn on the pc and share this moment with you.  I came home from work at 11:30 pm and poas....the out come blew me away. I have a faint line there that came up right away.  I'm still crying.  Even though I did'nt give up, I still was a lil bumed out because of this being 9dpt with negs on three test.  OMG..I POAS and I'm so PREGER'S..I clapping and crying.  Now I can wish the week to fly by so I can take my blood work on wed...OMG...thank you LORD for my blessing.  I'm so happy and over joyed.  The last forum I read before work was a lady took a test right before leaving out for her blood work and it was neg.  Then the doc called her hours later to inform her she's PREGER'S. That's what made me stop at walgreens on the way home.. Heather I have a line......

BIG HUG,,,thanks for that.. I'm sending myself extra baby dust.  I did use the dollar store brand test.  My date is moved because of my work hours. It was to be taken on the 13th. Im hoping lil butter bean is just late settling in.

Well, to be honest, I would think you would get a positive on a home test by now...but you never know! Some tests are less sensitive than others. I'm surprised they make you wait so long for the blood test, though. I did IVF three years ago and came in for my blood test 10 days after 5-day transfer. But either way, keep thinking good thought, and don't throw in the towel until the blood test! Best of luck! I'll keep my fingers crossed!

You're right, you're 9 days past transfer today (starting counting on the 31st), so when you add the 5 days the embryo was growing before the transfer you're the equivalent of what would have been 14 days past ovulation in a normal cycle. When is your blood test?

Thanks for the comment.  How many days past ovulation should I test?  I was for sure that if I had a 5day blast transfered on the 30th, I should count the first day of transfter on the 31st. So as of today, I am 9dpt..(with neg). I feel as if my world is caving in. I also can admit that I am keeping hope alive until my blood work.

5 days past transfer could definitely still be too early. That would be the equivalent of 10 days past ovulation, and only a few women get a positive that early. Give it a few days and try again! Best of luck!!!

Hi,
I was so hard headed and took a test on today 5dpt of a 5day blast.  I must admit I took 3 test and they all read neg. I still have a burn desire to know if I was to early.  Please help.
