32mm monster size follicle!!!

LMP: 29 Apr 2010...30-31 regular cycles.

Age 31...m/c in Feb 2008

day 18, left follicle is 18 mm...hcg 5000 taken.

day 20, follicle 19 mm...no fluid seen...

day 21, follicle is 22mm...no free fluid in POD...hcg 5000 taken again....

day 23 (today)...follicle is 32mm...no fluid in POD...

Surprisingly, the rt ovary follicle increased only 3mm (14mm to 17mm) from day 21 to day 23,,,but left ovary follicles increased 10 mm from 22mm to 32mm....

Question:

Why is it growing at such speed...it's 32mm now!!! :(

Would the rt ovary 17 mm grow...can that release an egg now?

Are you on fertility meds? Getting ready for IUI/IVF? If so, your doctor would have triggered you when your follicles reached 18 mm, so I'm not sure why you're still waiting... and I'd think that your follicle would ovulate on its own anyway when it reached this size! Best wishes :)

Hi,

Thanks for your advice..it's just that the size grew by 10 mm in two days that bothered me...Moreover, the radiologist told me that the follicle had not ruptured (hence meaning no ovulation)....so was very depressed....we did make out on day 19, 20, 21...my doc tells me not to worry but continue making out....no, not on IUI/IVF....but this cycle, I took hmg and hcg....

Is it possible that it way a cyst on the ovary, due to it's size hense no ovulation, anyway good luck SSBD

Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing... a cyst rather than a follicle with an egg. I developed some cysts on my ovaries after my 2nd IUI and had to be on birth control for a month to get rid of them. Best of luck! :)
