4wks5dys More Spotting

Hi, i just got the bfp last week and was spotting brown even before my expected period.  well it had stopped on sunday and all was well.  hcg was doubling.  in just a few short days....i am spotting brown again.  nausea has lightened up considerably and i have the worst fear that i will lose this pregnancy.  This will be m/c 3.  What am i supposed to do?  It doesnt matter if I call my dr.  He won't do anything.  His belief is that if I am m/c it is for a good reason.  As far as insurance goes...I don't have much choice but to see this dr unless i go to a specialist and i have to have at least mc.....i dont think i can take this again!!  :(

I don't know, I might call and just tell them you're spotting. It seems like everytime I did they wanted to see me for at least blood work. I hope it's okay.

It's a terribly emotional roller coaster. I feel like you've come so far and finally made it only to be on the fence of disappointment. I hope this is not the case. I spotted w/dd and I've spotted w/miscarriages. So, some will say it's normal and some will say it's not. There are just a million answers. They won't be able to see anything yet, but taking blood would be the least they can do and should. Please call :)

Gee, that's okay!! just go tomorrow and you will find out Monday. I had to do that soo many times w/dd. Then w/my m/c and now with this new baby. I'm telling you, patience is something you have to just find.....The weekend will go quicker than the weekday, I assure you! What color is the spotting?

brown tinge...barely there.  but it is there.  do you know what i mean.  kind of like when you tinkle and the tp is stained a very light color.  i couldnt go today if i wanted to.  dh dropped me at work cuz my car is in the shop.  ughhhh.  i guess i will know one way or the other right?  How am i supposed to keep a positive outlook about this?

Yeah, I had the brown BOTH with healthy pregnancy AND miscarriage. That's why there is no right or wrong answer, ya know? This pregnancy I had the brown about 8-dpo until about 11dpo and then it went away. + on the 12th and then put on the progesterone, hmmmm started that on I think 15 dpo. Well, you're 3's were doubling, that has to account for some kind of hope right? What was your progesterone #?

progesterone was only 23.7.  that is low isnt it??  i have been taking vitex and wild yam but i dont think it is enough.  :(

No, that's not low. Mine was 21. I would keep taking whatever you are taking though.

Okay I read it and it said that from up to 12 weeks pregnant the range can be from 9-47!

I so know how you are feeling.  I was searching the web for anwsers and found this forum.  I had FET on October 11. On October 25 two weeks post transfer my HCG was 236 and progestrone 39.5. four weeks and five days my HCG was 2258. Next day start to bleed, freeked out.  Called my RE and told me to take progestrone shot and supp and get off feet. Next day had HCG drawn and U/S done.  HCG (not quite 48 hours later) was 4019 so almost double however U/S showed nothing just alot of blood and clots and they could not see anything.  Have to wait until tomorrow to draw HCG again and U/S at 1130. SHould have HCG before U/S.  waiting is the worst.

I am five weeks today.  I start bleeding in my fourth week.  Now my bleeding has drastically diminished just a few brown spots.  Still very worried.  My breast tenderness has diminished greatly and I was never had nausea.  I am hoping my HCG tomorrow is over 8000 because that shows that I am progressing.

You are going for your U/S or HCG?  Best of luck wishing you really high numbers. Like you I have had several miscarriages and I had one stillborn.  This is basically my last chance at becoming pregnant.

Wow, I am glad to have found your question.  I hope someone can help...Since you got your BFP can you help me with something.  I have been spotting since 5dpo I am currently 12 dpo, which is a total of 8 days!!!  I am concerned that something is wrong...I have taken 2 pregnancy test..including one this morning and they both were neg.  I am due for af on Saturday the 3rd.  Can someone please help me through this...I am crying as I am typing...can't deal with this. :(

krwayne:  i am sorry you are so upset.  like i said i spotted post ovulation which was 3 days prior to expected af.  it then stopped.  but i was having tests that were showing very faint positives and then finally got an hcg day before expected af that showed i was in fact prego.  call your dr if you are concerned and they can get you a blood test.

Jif, because I just m/c in July he put me on it as a precautionary. When he did find out the # though he didn't tell me to discontinue it. He said it wouldn't hurt. Sometimes it makes me wonder if it would keep a bad pregnancy, ughh one more thing to worry about!!!

I wonder the same thing.  If taking progestrone would cause a ultimately bad pregnancy to stay intacted until you discontinue and your levels drop down.  I started bleeding on tuesday evening, Doc said to take progestrone shot right away and take a supp as well,  Next morning told to take another shot and then continue as normal.  When I miscarried in July I my body would not start bleeding until my levels droped.  I am wondering if the extra shot of progestrone is what caused my bleeding to subside slightly now only have a slight spotting that is either red or brown.

I don't think that taking the progesterone will cause a bad pregnancy to stay.  I miscarried even though I was taking the progesterone.  My hcg dropped to 9 from 48 in less than a week.

i think that progesterone will help a good pregnancy and if it is bad, nothing will help it along.  my last pregnancy when i   m/c i was taking wild yam and false unicorn and it helped me have a faster m/c.  the time before that i was taking it at the first sign of blood and it kept my pregnancy for the full 40 weeks and i now have my son.  i think if it is bad, there is really nothing we can do. :(

How was your HCG test?  Had my blood drawn this morning and should have the results in about an hour or so.  Left message for my DR office to contact me with results even before I go in for my U/S.  My bleeding started again still a real dark red to brown color.  Hoping its something normal or sort of normal.  I trying to stay really positive and have a good outlook.

i hope your tests are positive.  mine was not.  my results were only 300.  they should have been at least 1000.  now i sit and wait for the inevitable.  I cried alot.  :(  i hope you will have a better outcome.

Spoke to my doctor here and my RE in AZ.  My RE says that just because my level decline does not necessarily mean that I am losing my pregnancy.  He stated that when you have a pregnancy of more than one embryo and you lose one your level will decline slightly and then once your body resolves the issue it will start to incline again.  My progestrone level dropped from 39.9 to 33 unsure of the outcome.  I am going for a U/S here in an hour. My doctor wants me to stay positive however I am having a difficult time staying positive.  I sometimes think my doctor is trying to give me false hope.

oh, are you carrying twins?  so you are 5wks 1 day today right?  i am 4 weeks and 6 days.  honestly, i am very sad that i am miscarrying but i am glad that it is so early on.  the further along the pregnancy gets, the harder time i have had.  i have read that you can not go by progesterone.  please let me know how the us goes. it still might be early to see anything but i wish you luck.  :)

I don't know if i am or was carrying twins.  When I went through FET I implanted three embryo's so it is quite possible that I was carrying multiple just don't know.  Pregnancy symptoms are disappearing fast.  I am very sad right now and don't have much of a positive outlook for the U/S to show something positive.

Oh, Jifnif, I'm so very sorry. I posted a new post for you and have been looking for you all morining. Your news is devastating I am very sad for you :( Keep your chin up, or try. Does this make 3 m/c for you? have you asked about genetic testing?

Jifnif, I am sorry your numbers were not good.  My numbers weren't good but my results from my U/S are a little more promissing.  My U/S showed that I have one sac that has blood in it and thats it,  and another ges sac that has a yolk sac and the ring around it.  I am trying not to get my hopes to much as it could quite possibly end with a complete miscarriage.  Even if I do end up carrying one and losing the other I stress all the way until 16 weeks which is when I miscarried another and now because I had a stillborn at 37 wks I could quite possible worry until the end if this one takes.  

Quite possibly pregnant with twins and am losing one.  To early to see the fetal pole.  Won't know for sure until next week, blood work on Monday, Wednesday and U/S on thursday unless start flowing over weekend then will go in ASAP.

   So sorry to hear that your numbers are not what they should be.  I had a m/c at 11 weeks once and the p/g only got harder and harder to the end.  The baby was two weeks behind at 7w3d with low hcg so it was not good from the start.  On the bright side the m/c seemed to cleanse my system and 6 m later I went to IVF again (this time with no meds just transfer) and am now 10 weeks with the baby developing normally.  I do hope the same will be true for you - that this m/c will prepare the way for a healthy pregnancy.  Oh and you know I went swimming after m/c maybe a week or two later and had quite a clear discharge.  I think the vigorous activity brought it on and I have never had anything like it before or since (internal cleansing?)  I do hope good can come from this and your memories can be replaced with better ones.  Take good care of yourself - baths and tea and hold on for a better tomorrow.

In case I can't find you again jifnif I want to say that last time with m/c i was taking progesterone suppositories (200 mg) 3 times per day.  This was way too high!  Dr John Lee only recommends 100 mg per day AT MOST.  I don't know what the IVF clinic was thinkiing and I had a bad feeling about it b/c they made me so thirsty and fatigued!  Anyway this time I only took a spec of progesterone (Dr John Lee's) at the times when I would be ovulating and this was what was needed.  One or two days at most then quit til next ov time (in p/g).  Yes tracking your cycle underneath does help~! You don't want to OD on progesterone -too much of a good thing is still not a good thing.  I was only able to do this b/c they did not shut off my pituatray gland with LH but left my system running.  If you must take progesterone be aware of OD signs and cut back the dosage or if 8 weeks cut it out altogether .  I know this is info for the future but perhaps it will help you to look forward to another p/g and another chance.  Love and Prayers,

What are the OD signs of progestrone?  I went through medicaded FET transfer on 10/11.  I took lupron, estridial, and now am on progestrone.  I take three 25 mg supp a day and on 2 ml progestrone oil IM shot daily.  My miscarriage this time they believe is a multiple pregnancy with the loss of one embryo. Can you tell me the signs of progrestrone OD.  Thanks.

I would ask your doctor for a u/s to be done.  It is possible that your numbers are progressing slow.  HCG is not an exact science and some doctors don't like to use them.  A u/s would tell you anything and everything for sure.  Is it possible a blighted ovum?

I think it's terrible you have to wait this long for an appointment!  If I were you I would go to another doc.  You should not wait 3 weeks to get an answer!  Are you going to take another blood test?  Sending you lots of SSBD!!!

A blighted ovum is when a pregnancy starts and for what ever reason the embryo ceases to develop so you have a ges sac that is empty.  That is what happened to me this summer with my previous attempt to have another child.  Your HCG levels will continue to rise because the sac still produces however they don't double like they should.

VTS is vanishing twin syndrome.  I went for my HCG this morning and should have results here in about an hour or so.  I am still spotting have been all weekend.  Will let you know my results when received.

I got my HCG results and they were 4398.  DR is really positive with the number going up like it did.  It didn't double but if I am experiencing VTS then it wouldn't double because of the lose of one. I am still hopeful that I will have both.

Jifnif - So glad to hear that your spotting has quit!  I hope the very best for you.  Yes - I was talking about the Dr John Lee you googled who wrote a book on it.  His cream is the real stuff and can be accessed through Heartland Natural Products.  

Tandkfisher : For me the signs of  OD on progesterone were excessive fatigue, inflamation (inflammation) (swelling) in my feet so I had to elevate them - that in the first 4 weeks on -imagine- and excessive thirst day and night.  Too much really sent my blood sugars for a loop on the low side and hence the thirst.  Really progesterone is nothing to take lightly b/c it is a building block for both estrogen and testosterone.  ie: too much progesterone = too much estrogen= m/c.  With the cream you can monitor your own dose according to how you feel  -how you feel is the best indicator of P levels.  As I said I only take a spec at ovulation when I encounter a thirst that won't leave me and when I cannot stop going to the bathroom several times an hour.

I am nearly 11 weeks now and things are much better since I monitor P accoding to my body's needs.  I hope you have a beautiful baby tandkfisher or maybe even two!

I think I am only taking 125 mg of progrestrone a day.  In addition to the progestrone I am taking estradial as well.  Because I went through Frozen Embryo Transfer and did not ovulate my body did not produce either naturally.  I haven't had any of the signs, uncontrollable thirst or excessive fatique and my feet never swelled.  My progestrone level is right around 33 now it was at 39.9 however when I started to bleed my level decreased even though the amount I was taking was not decreased.  I just had my blood drawn for my progestrone level yesterday maybe I should have my estrogen level checked as well.  I will check with my Dr.  Maybe my problem was is that combo with estrace and progestrone I had to much and it caused me to lose one.  Don't know.
