Accuracy of Ovulation Tests

Hi,

My question is how accurate are these LH surge detection kits.

This month I used the Ferning test and as soon as it started to show partial pattern then I started using the Ovulation test kit.  I tested once a day.  i was not able to find a surge.  Am on day 15 day and the ferning test is back to baseline.

My obe said (based on the u/s) i would ovulation sat or sunday (today).  The U/s dr said it would be friday or Saturday.

So obviously it is over and I missed it.  Anyway, we tried and I guess I'll know in 2 weeks.

if not successful it will be IUI next cycle.

I question it's accuracy as well. I had an Ovulation predictor test be positive after I beleive I have already ovulated. I have been charting so I tested after my temp rise and it was +. they say that after the bbt peak, the egg is already gone. Anyone know if an op test can be positvie after you've ovulated?
