Agnus Castus with antibiotics.

Hello,

   I have started taking agnus castus to try help my periods to start again after they have stopped since coming off the pill.  I have just been put onto a course of anti-biotics and wondered if it is safe to use the herbal tablet agnus castus at the same time.

   I did post a reply yesterday but it doesn't seem to be showing so just so I don't seem rude I thought I would post one again just to make sure.

   No doctor seems to be able to answer the question about herbal with medications.  only 2 days left of antibiotics so I will play safe and wait.  It's driving me crazy because surely it isn't normal to miss 2 periods and soon my 3rd if I carry on this way, yet doctors tell you to go away.

I do not know the answer to this, but I would be interested in the answer as well.  I do know that antibiotics cancel out the effects of the birth control pills (which are hormones).  And since Agnus Castus has an effect on hormones, my guess is that there would be some interaction between it and antibiotics.  At best, it would just be canceled out like birth control.  But the interaction could be bad as well.  

I would suggest to stop taking the Agnus Castus while taking the antibiotics.  I highly doubt that your Dr. would know the interaction, but it's always worth a try!
