Allergy shots during IUI/IVF?

Hi -
My husband and I are being treated for infertility. I'll be 41 in May and my husband has a low sperm count and low morphology. I saw one RE in September who thought there might be some immune system factor in me related to our troubles getting pregnant over the previous year. He told me to stop getting allergy shots, which I did. Then we changed doctors and started getting IUI. We are currently on our 5th IUI and find out Sunday, but chances are not great this month. If we are not pregnant we'll be doing IVF next. My allergies are bad and I have a tendency to get allergic fungal sinusitis, which is very prevalent in the Southwest.(I've already had surgery for this once.) I had three years of no sinus infections, but now they're back and I really need to be on allergy shots. My current RE's office says that I can get allergy shots during IVF treatment. I'm wondering what anyone else thinks? I haven't found anything negative about it on the internet, but don't want to mess up my IVF. Thanks for any info!

Allergy shots can trigger an immune reponse so the previous Dr probably did not want you mounting an immune response at the time of implantation since an embryo is foreign.  If the current Dr says it is okay then I would go ahead and take them as long as he knows exactly what you are taking.  If you do move on to IVF make sure to ask him about giving them to yourself when you are on the immunosuppression drugs before transfer.

I dont have an answere and I have same problem too.  All I can do is stop all allergy shots or even medicine.  My allergy get worse, but I want a baby badly.  I'm on the first IVF because I'm failed all IUIs.
I remember the last time I got shots about a year ago, and I got late AF that month.  I noticed it to the nurse and doctor send me home without allergic shot then I know should have some thing related to pregnancy.  I skip allergic treatment since then.
Friend of mine also get allergic shot without knowing her prenagcy and she got miscarry.
Double check with your RE.  I asked him last week, and he said since i'm not on any allergy pills or shots, i'm OK.  I did not ask as if I'm OK, with the allergic treatment.
wish you the best.
