Another OPK question....so confusing!!

Ok so I have another question about OPK's. I am on CD 11 and I took Clomid CD 5-9. I POAS (OPK) yesterday afternoon and only got one line. Well this morning I did it again and got a faint line w/ the other which according to the box thats is still a negative. I have been feeling slight cramping on one side and I usually do when I O. My question is does the slight line mean I am getting close or does it mean nothing? I think I usually O closer to CD 14 but I have read that Clomid can change that. If that is the case I may have missed it last month and that gives me alittle hope this month :)

               With opk it is not positive until the first line is as dark as or darker than the second line.  You could be getting ready to get your surge. I was on clomid for 3 cycles and femara for 4 cycles and my cd for o didnt change that i could tell. I always o between cd13 and cd15 with meds or without. Are you doing your opk with first morning urine? I was told not to use first morning urine because you could have high levels of lh. I was told to do it in the afternoon or if you want to pin point it better I was told by my RE to test in the afternoon and then again before bed that way your not waiting 24hrs between tests in case you get your surge sometime after your first opk of the day you will see the surge sooner. It is better to start testing OPK  from CD10 to CD15. Well It depends on your cycle length.  

Sometimes clomid delay the ovulation that's why Doc's always say ( if u have 28 -30 day cycle) to start testing on CD10 -CD15 If u don't see line then CD16 they will do b/w to see whether u O or not.

What instruction ur doc gave u while she/he put u on clomid?

You know, I always start OPK's on CD7 I normally O between CD11-12 & once on CD10 SO JUST in case I do them earlier.  BUT I did th CCCT this month (wish I hadn't!) & I was told I would O later, well, I THINK I O'd on CD11 at night or CD12, I got cramps, not so bad though on CD10 & USUALLY I O by the next day when I feel this.
BUT BUT BUT I NEVER got a + on my OPK's this month until AFTER I triggered myself.  & it was a + I THINK cuz of the trigger, I could be wrong, but I have learned to trust my body MORE than what RE's/DR's say I SHOULD be doing.

Thanks ladies for all the info. This is my first month using any type of fertility drugs and my dr didnt say much about any of it...but boy will I have lots of questions for him on Thursday when I see him!!! :)   I had read on here that it is better to test in the afternoon so I will probably do that today, but of course the box said first morning urine. All of this is sooo confusing to me. I will listen to my body and spend lots and lots of quality time w/ my DH...he loves this time of month :)    Good luck to all you ladies and thanks for all the info, it was very helpful!! Hiya I done some ovulation tests this round and they have just really confused me. I finished my 5th chlomid tablet 10 days ago and I've had cramps today. The ovulation test line wasn't quite as dark as the other line but darker than normal, the next one was fainter then the next few have been no lines. I'm so confused. Last month I took 50mg and didn't ovulate so really want to this month so badly.

Have you tried the smiley face OPK's??   They are the Clear Blue Easy digital.  When you get your LH surge you get a smiley face.  They are a bit more exspensive but at least you don't have to decifer between the 2 lines.  I also, have the clear blue easy digital monitor.

I have thought about getting those smiley face OPK but decided to save money and buy the 20 pack for 20$. I have been testing at night and in the morning and they have been negative so far. I am feeling positive that I will O soon so I am trying not to worry too much. I will find out more on thur when I get my u/s. Thanks ladies!! Good luck to all of you!!

i dont know much about clomid but with opk's you dont want to use your first morning urine.  you want to test twice a day because once may miss your surge. i did the 20 pack strips and i loved them.  plus it fed my poas-aholic personality lol.  i tested around 10-11am and then again around 4pm.  they say to use it the same time every day but i dont know how convienent that always is.  

i havent read the book but i hear Taking Charge Of Your Fertility is supposed to be a dynomite book in learning how to read your body and its signs.

Good Luck! I prefer the digital ones..no guess work! And I to was told my my RE to test twice a day so you dont miss the surge...
