Any IVF's? Taking Crinone and Vivelle?

Hello.....
I am 8 wks preggo via IVF....taking Crinone (progesterone) and Vivelle (estrogen patch)....anyone else taking?  having any side effects?  how long do you have to take yours?  I am having constipation issues and was just wondering if anyone else out there is experiencing it to?

I am taking crinone... but am taking estrace pills orally and vaginally... the only thing I have noticed is the wonderful white "balls" that the crinone produces :0)  Maybe the consipation is due to you pregnancy and not the meds you are taking??

I was on Crinone and Vivelle after my IVF last year and I was constipated, too. It does get better, though, after you stop the extra progesterone. At least it did for me. Towards the end of my pregnancy, I was actually more regular than I've ever been!  Other than that, i also had the Crinone buildup mvh mentioned. I was told by my RE to use a finger and gently remove any buildup every 2-3 days. It also caused some watery discharge. As for how long I was on the meds, I was suppose to stop around 10 or 11 weeks, but I actually continued until 12 weeks. Congrats on your pregnancy!

Thanks for the suggestion on the build-up suggestion!  I feel like I don't even have any "room" in there anymore! ha ha!  And it sure puts a damper on BDing!!  Geez!  But I will def do the "removal"!  Thanks again!!!!

yes, the build up is gross and I took it upon myself to remove the buildup...yuck......and along with the side effects from the crinone and vivelle, I also have OHSS from the IVF cycle....so I'm miserable to say the least.....this is my second round of IVF, second preg, and first experience with OHSS and constipation, nausea and exhaustion....feeling a bit overwhelmed with keeping up with the daily tasks, needing naps when my 2.5 year old naps....but I know it's all worth it, just ready to feel better.....

by the way, with the OHSS, I already look 5 months preggo.....all the swelling, so that's been fun to!  trying to explain to people that I'm only 8 wks preggo!
