Thanks for the info. I think i just get parnoid sometimes because I don't go to an RE and I worry that there are other minor things i could be doing to help out the cause.
As for the BBT, I saw this question on our other post and answered it there.
Hi Candie,
Trigger shot is given to release the egg from the follicle. Whenthe follicle grows to 18mm or above, it means that there is a viable egg in there and it should be released by means of a LH sgre naturally. In my case, in the last cycle I did not get a surge until my follicle grew to 32mm, and then it was too big to be given a trigger shot as it would have caused a lot of discomfort. IN when ur cycles it being monitored closely by means of US, they monitor your folllicle size, as soon as it grows over 18mm, they would give u a shot and not wait for the lh surge. That's what they plan to do for me this cycle...Last time I had gone for my US on CD14, by then it was already 32mm. This time they have called me in on CD11 or 12 to catch it at a better time. Hope this helps in answering you question.
I have a question on Femara too....I am tracking my BBT as well while on it. I have noticed that my BBT is higher (close to my after ovulation) on the days when I take them. Is it because of the med or something else?
I was also on Clomid for 4 months and didn't end up pregnant, so I am now on Femara 5mg CD3-7 just like G_S. I'm in the 2ww of my second cycle and I got a positive OPK and my temps went up, so it seems to be working well for me. I do have a question though. When I questioned my doctor about the trigger shot, she said that I don't need it because I'm getting a positive OPK and this means I am ovulating. Is that right or is that just the OBGYN (non-specialist) way of thinking? It seems to me that the majority of people get this shot to ensure that the follicles are released. I go back for a follow-up if this month doesn't work, so I'd like to talk to her about this. Thanks!
I have been on 6 cycles of clomid with no luck. Last cycle was my first on Femara 5mg CD3-7, got a good follicle, ovulated, IUIed, Progesterone was 27 in mid-leutal phase, but did not end up being pregnant.
Starting my second roung now.
I took 2.5 mg of Femara for cycle days 5-9 for 3 months no luck. I then took 5 mg on cd 3-7 and got pregnant on the 3rd month, also used a trigger shot. The trigger shot is nice because you will know exactly when to bd and also it will realease all follicles that are good size to improve your odds of conceiving.
I am currently taking Femara for low progesterone levels & a luteal phase defect. I took two rounds of clomid & that didn't work. this was my first month on Femara. On D10 they did a ultrasound & it showed 2 good sized folliccales in my left ovary. I'm on D19 right now & really hoping & praying that it worked. I have a 28 month old daughter & had 2 m/c in 2007. Has anyone else had success with Femara that has a similiar situation as mine??
I started FEMARA this is my second round with it and my progestrone levels are 34. Is this a sign i could be pregnant?
Hi - I got pregnant on my first round of femara, with HCG trigger, then prometium after ovulation. Never took clomid. I only had one dominant follicle with the femara which was about 20mm an day 13 and my lining was only 6.?mm so I was not hopeful it would work!! I was very surprised!! I did not have any side effects from the femara. I am now 9 weeks 1 day. 6 week and 8 week ultrasounds were perfect!! I will definitely use this again next time!! GOOD LUCK!!!
