BFN:( And a question

Ahhh....3rd IUI a failure...I just dont get it...the first two that i did last year were both BFP and now I've done 3 in a row with all BFN...WHY????   I'm worried that my FSH has something to do with it....it's been tested twice with one reading of an 8 and another of a 12.  I needed a lot of repronex (2 amps in the morning 2 at night) to get 7 follicles, 6 mature eggs at trigger...does that sound terrible to you???
what are your thoughts on trying IVF???  I know that I would never make a ton of eggs but I'd hope for around 7...just curious if any of you have failed IUI's then moved to IVF and had success...I just dont want to do anymore IUIs AT ALL!
So PLEASE let me know if any of you had success with IVF if you've failed IUIs...and if any of you dont make a ton of eggs like I do...but I'm just 30 so I'm hoping that would help.
Thank you:(  I'm trying to plan my day so that I can get through it and move on.
Barrack Obama is coming to speak in my town today so I think that we're going to go to that...always good to have a plan.

So sorry!! It is so frustrating...if nothing is pointing in the direction for you to get a - it just doesn't make sense! What does your clinic suggest? Our clinic suggests moving on to IVF after 3 failed attempts at IUI...after 3 really, it should work unless there is something more wrong that can be found through IVF. We did 6 IUI's (3 at one clinic, then 3 at another due to a move) and knew that IVF had to be the next step. Nothing showed up as to why not working (had a 5 yr old ds that conceived on our own...but hadn't been on b/c since he was born) so after two rounds of IVF we did found out what was wrong. It can really give you a lot of answers since they can look at your eggs and the embies after fertilization. Too, they stim you a lot more w/ IVF to produce a lot more follicles. With an IUI they don't want you to produce a bunch of eggs, due to not being able to control how many will get fertilized, where as IVF they have control over how many embies are put in your body. So you will probably produce a lot more. W/ my IUI's i would produce about 5 follicles, but w/ IVF I had 15 then 18.
Good luck w/ your decision and talking w/ your doctors! :O) Oh, and as you mentioned...having a plan is great. I was ready to move on to the next one as soon as the BFN came, it made it easier to know I had a goal and focused on that rather than...why it didn't work.

I am so sorry!!! I know how you feel.  DD we didn't even have to think and were pg! Now it's been 2 1/2 years.  3 failed IUIs, IVF #1 chemical, and this FET is pending.  But i have had negative hpts two days in a row.  My beta is sunday.  I am trying to grasp for a bit of hope that maybe i had late implantation, but i am having a hard time!!! I am out of money for fertility options.  And my dd asks every day for a sister. (breaks me heart!)  I would say moving onto IVF is worth it, just depends on if you can afford it, and remember it also is not a 100% guarantee!  I felt that i would for sure get pg with IVF since i was young, healthy and had DD so easily.  But here I am.  Once again I am so sorry!!! Let us know what you decide to do.  And a plan is always a good idea!  We are going to Italy in June, I hope looking forward to that trip will get me through a bfn if that's what i get Sunday!   Sorry so long.  Try to do something fun and relaxing.

I'm right there with you shayla.  DD & DS 1st try on both.  I've heard that even six months time can affect ur fertility.  Stay hopeful.  I know of at least 5 people on here who got their BFPs this month.

Hello. I have had 3 failed IUIs though the last IUI I did get an HCG of 3 which was encouraging.  My 1st IVF was a failure but to this day I don't know if that RE did assisted hatching and given my age..that was needed. Also, I only had 3 embryos to transfer.  My 2nd IVF I just recently got a BFP and I had 5 embryos to transfer at day 3 which I believe is the max for a 40 year old with a previosly failed IVF. We did ICSI and AH.  You've been pregnant before so that's a good thing. You may want to get a few opinions from different REs on types of protocol before you invest your time and money into an IVF. I wish I had done that before my 1st IVF.  Your next BFP is on the way!

I had 3 IUI with no success and then moved to IVF.
Two IVF:
#1 BFP (ectopic)
#2 BFP waiting to see if its a viable pregnancy.
I would go to IVF next. The success rates are so much higher than IUI.
Good luck and keep us posted,
Miky

I haven't had this experience, but I have heard of others who did not have success with IUI and did with IVF.  Look at Brad and Angelina...they have a 2 yr old and had to do 3 rounds of IVF before she got preggo again.  Now she's having twins.  Hang in there sweetie.
