Bleeding after Positive IVF Pregnancy Test

Hi There,
I'm hoping someone out there can tell me about their experience with IVF.  Over a week ago I had a positive pregnancy test, I had some brown spotting, which I was somewhat concerned about, but it seems that it was just old blood and the crinone coming out.  Now I have red spotting and I am worried, I know the nurses know what they are doing, and they have told me just don't stress and relax, as long as it doesn't get too heavy.  But anyway, I'm nervous, i've never been pregnant before and just worried and would like to hear other people experiences.  So hoping some women out there can tell me their stories after IVF.
Thanks in advance!

Well u are going back tomm for another blood test, dont worry too much (i know how hard that is).  You will have your answer tomm.  A have read plenty of times that plenty of women have had bleeding and then go on to deliver healthy babies.  My mother in law is one of these people.  She had her AF for 3 months and she had no idea she was pregnant until she was throwing up so much she had to go to the doctor.

Good luck.

I just had a positive preg test on 11/5 at 444, I go back tomorrow to see if the number doubled.  Today I'm seeing red blood, not a lot and no cramping.  I'm worried.  The nurse said it's common and normal and the number will tell a lot tomorrow.  This is my 4th IVF attempt and we had the best transfer of 3 grade A blasts, one was hatching and the other 2, 2-3 hrs behind.  What could the blood be?  maybe a multiple discarding?.  I'm hoping this is it and that nothing is wrong.  I feel for every woman that has gone through multiple IVF's.  You just want it to be it, so you can move on.  Thanks, for listening.  Worried

Thanks Ladies, I've taken the day off today and have been for a bike ride and getting ready to buy a first class ticket on the positive train.  I can't believe how sad I feel...  We got over each hurdle on the way, and were so close...  I'm trying to be positive and have made an appointment with the Doc and my Hubby has just been great, so that all helps.  It just doesn't seem real...  It just doesn't seem that it's over...

You are all so great and this is the best support because everyone, family and friends, just don't get that it's not about "it will happen when it happens".  They just don't get it, My mother-in-law, trying to be funny keeps saying that she will get us a copy of that book 'Where Do Babies Come From' - It's just not funny.

Thanks again to you all

I totally understand. I miscarried after IVF too.  ITs really sad because you think this is it and you start planning things out.  I'm crying with you right now because I'm sad.  I know how you feel.  Please relax and pamper yourself. Don't worry, it'll happen again. God knows the best time for us even when we think we know. HUGS

Ohhh I am very sorry! You are right:  Be sad, cry and then try to get back into a positive side. It helps to get it all out. I am here for you, if you need to talk or someone to cry with.  Hugs

Well, I'm not pregnant anymore...  I'm very sad, I've had a good cry and my hubby came home and gave me lots of hugs and told me all the right things, like "every-thing's going to be ok, we'll try again until it happens, nothing's going to stop us".  So I'm going back on 24 July to see the doctor and hopefully we won't have to wait to long to go again.

So the nurses keep telling me that rest is the best thing and not stressing.  I guess my problem is that I work part time and own a business...  So I am going to try really hard to stop and relax.

But after my tears and sadness I'm going to get on the positive and cross my fingers for next time, which hopefully won't be to long away...

Thanks Ladies

I've never done IVF, but spotting is not abnormal during early pregnancy.

I got my bfp after my first ivf a few weeks ago.  Just like yourself, I started spotting about one week after my positive test.  Then spotting turned red and then turned into heavy bleeding.  I was diagnosed with subchorionic hematoma that causes the bleeding in my case.  Luckily my baby is OK so far.  Red spotting after positive HPT is unrelated to ivf and is not uncommon in early pregnancy.  However, you should be monitored very closely.  I know how stressful seeing red is and I really feel for you.  I hope your pregnancy is going well despite the spotting.

Good luck!!
