Blighted ovum at 41 with first pregnancy

I miscarried my 1st pregnancy after conceiving after 3 months of trying. It was a blighted ovum. I'm having the passed tissue tested for the cause which may not be found since I miscarried at 7 weeks. I'd like to know if I should immediately seek diagnosis for my condition being over 40 years old for the next time prior to trying to conceive to check for good eggs? I don't want to go through the emotional stress of wondering if I'd miscarry again. I don't want an egg donor nor adoption as options. IVF is fine with me. I'd take the tests results from the pathology lab from my 1st miscarriage to the fertility institute to see what they say can help prevent my chances of miscarrying in the future. I feel as if I only have 2 years left to try before I'm too old & call it quits! Should I wait 3 months like my doctor said if I didn't need a D & C to try again? Please give me some advice & closure. It just happened last Friday! It's all i think about- I feel like a private investigator. I need answers!

My Dr. also told me to wait three months after my m/c to give the uterine lining time to adjust, BUT when I was in nursing school, 2 girls got PG around the same time and both m/c around the same time, the weird thing is they both became PG again their following cycle, both to which carried full term healthy babies! Good luck, I would start trying after you are emotionally ready. Good luck, and I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

Hi. I too am 41 and dealing with my first pregnancy. I also have miscarried. We never got to see our baby on the ultasound. As it was too early. My doctor told me that once I stopped bleeding, to wait for my first period, then try. I am now 5 weeks this Thursday of bleeding. My HCG is down to 24. So by next week I should be done with the miscarriage. Then we will wait for my period. Once I start, I will then start taking Clomid. My husband has cancer. So we are hoping to concive right away. But we do not want to risk anything happening to our next pregnancy. So we are gong to do what my doctor says. Good Luck with trying again.
