Most women get tender breasts after ovulation. After the egg has been released, progesterone levels go up and this rise in progesterone often leads to tender or even sore breasts. It usually goes away when the levels go back down again around your next period. If you're pregnant, it will probably get worst, as the levels continue to rise...until you hit the end of the first trimester or so. Hope that helps.
