Brown spotting after positive result

i'm 11 days post IVF 3dayTransfer - i went for my first beta yesterday and got a BFP of 118 -  
Yesterday afternoon and now today as well i've had a small amount of brownish spotting - I'm going back for my second beta tomorrow, so will find out if all is ok then - I was wondering if any one else has had spotting in very early pregnancy? Is this normal?  feeling a bit anxious!

Brown disharge can be implantation blood, or old blood. How did your second beta go? What was the number?

VERY common.  unless you are bleeding heavily, it's almost certainly fine.
and brown means old blood, not fresh blood, so that's even better.
hang in there...you'll start to feel better after that first ultrasound when you see the heartbeat :)

I had brown spotting when I was pregnant with my dd.  I freaked out, too, but the dr told me it was totally normal, and it obviously was.  Later I even had bright red blood spotting and everything was still fine.  Best of luck to you!

I'm in the same position as you ... I go for my beta on monday and have been getting positive hpts since weds but have had a little bit of brown spotting the last few days .. it's always scary but I agree with allip that it is pretty common and don't think it is anything to worry about .. congrats!!!

Thank you all so much! Your messages have kept me sane!   I got my second beta today and it went from 118 to 427 - Was SO relieved!  Saw my Doc and she reassured me things are looking very good!  I might be starting to believe i'm actually pregnant!  Ultrasound on Mon 8th November!   - congrats to you as well tones99 - sounds good!

Congrats! I went in for first beta today it was 256. Have to go back on Wednesday for the second one.

thanks .. congrats to you too .. you are one step ahead of me .. how long between betas was it?  I will try to get into my doctor for another one as my clinic doesn't do follow ups

Congrats everyone - so many great results!   tones 99 - it was 48 hours between the two beta's - i've stopped spotting now so very relieved - excited about the U/S one week today!

hey .. it was 201 16 dpo .. I think that's kind of average from what I've read .. I can't get into my doc at all the next few days so have to phone tomorrow morn to see if there's any cancellations

Hi Maria,  I know what you mean - even with  a positive there's fear about the next step - good luck on wednesday :)  i'm crampy again this evening and spotting again - it makes feel so worried, even after the two great beta results - just want the spotting to stop so I can stop feeling nervous!

Try to relax as much as you can I know it's easier said than done. Don't worry everything will go fine. Take care.

Thanks Maria - actually my Doctor tested me for a urine infection as that can cause cramping, and it was positive - so now i'm on antibiotics!  I seemed to have stopped spotting today though - breathe and stay calm and roll on monday!  :)

Hello - very happy today :) Just had the first ultrasound and there is one little bean in there - they could just make out the yolk sack - and my HCG was 11,686!!!   So far so good - plus no spotting for a week now!!!   Good luck to you all :)

Hooray!!!  congrats!!  And I know what a relief that is not to be spotting anymore..even though it's totally normal, it's completely stressful while it's happening!  I think it might've taken me until the 3rd trimester before I quit looking at my toilet paper after each time I wiped.
