CD 17 and no follies =(

CD 17 and no follies =(

I started Femara this month.  I've been ovulating on clomid, but haven't gotten pregnant after about 8 months.  I was started on Femara and went on Monday (CD 13) and there was one follie that was 10 and my lining was 6.  I did OPK's this week and nothing.  I went back this morning and the 10 had grown to 13 and my lining was 10.  There were lots of other ones 7 - 11 in size.  I didn't see the doc, just the np.  She said normally the doc would abandon this cycle but she said she had a feeling about me.  She wants me to test this weekend and call if I get a positive surge.  Otherwise, she wants me to come in on Tuesday.  She asked if there was any chance that I already ovulated...I don't think I have.  I saw the doc on Monday - and have tested every day since then and nothing.

I am feeling pretty down.  We decided that after this month I would go on the pill for a while - pay off some bills and just take a break.  When we got pregnant with my daughter, not on purpose, after coming off the pill.  DH has been asking me to do this for a while now, so I feel that he has earned this since he is the one paying for all the fertility treatments.

What do you think my chances are for ovulating late - CD 20/21?  I usually ovulate on CD 17 with a 31 day cycle.

Hey texasangel

I was in a very similar situation last cycle, I wish I could give you some encouraging news but I can't.  I too usually ovulate CD17-19, with a 31-35 day cycle.  I went in for ultrasounds last cycle and had the same situation - one 10 follie and 6mm lining on CD12, then went back CD17 and the biggest was 13.5mm.  Nurse told me I wasn't going to ovulated that cycle.  I didn't believe her so kept testing.  All in all, I probably tested for about 2 weeks, never got a surge.  Never saw any other signs of O - like CM - like I usually do.  Turns out she was right - I didn't O and my cycle ended up being 44 days.  That cycle was unmedicated.  I did Femara this cycle - took it CD3-7, went in on CD12, had a 17.5mm follie and lining was around 9.  I actually felt some ovulation pain, which I never have before.  But today, which is 14dpo, I got AF.  I am so very depressed.

Anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.  I have heard that Femara can alter your normal ovulation time.  I've heard it makes it earlier, I've heard it makes it later - it all depends on the person.  This cycle, my first with Femara, I ovulated pretty much the same time as usual.  Good luck !!!!!

I've only been on clomid (still am) and my cycle days are usually 30-35 days. I usually ovulate 15-17 days after my period. Last month however I was worried that I wasn't going to ovulate but I did, 21 days after my period! Hang in there and keep testing :)

T-Angel...

I usually ov on CD 15-17...some CD18 & on a 25-27...sometimes 28 day cycle. Last month I had a 33 day cycle...the latest I've ever been. I didn't get AF until after my Lap Surgery. This month I checked & didn't ov until CD22! I also saw that someone posted they ovulated on CD23. I WAS so GLAD when I saw the 2 dark lines, you'd thought I got a BFP for preggers. ;o) So...hang in & keep testing.

Cheers~
