Calling All Women of Strength!!!

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape…
But a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape.
A strong woman isn't afraid of anything…
But a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of fear.
A strong woman won't let anyone get the better of her…
But a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone.
A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future…
A woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also be unexpected blessings and capitalizes on them.
A strong woman wears a look of confidence on her face…
But a woman of strength wears grace.
A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey…
But a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

Sorry I've been hit or miss on here lately.  Just been busy, but everything's going great.  We had our 2-month appt with the pediatrician today!  Can you believe it's been 2 months?!  Our babies got their first round of shots & did really well :)  Ricky's weighing 8 lbs, 11 oz and Ava is 7 lbs, 11 1/2 oz.  They're eating 4 oz per feeding & now go up to 4 hours in between, which is great!  I uploaded three new pics :)

Sammy_J:  How are you feeling?  Do you have a beta scheduled?

Hi ladies! I've missed you guys so much, but I've been SO busy with moving, working and taking care of miss addy! I can't wait until this moving process is over! I've almost got the old house cleaned, everything's out except for this computer and our fish tank, yayy! I'm off tomorrow, so I'll spend the day cleaning and will take Addy to daycare so I can get everything done! She's getting so big you guys, and doing such cute stuff! She's a little talker and laughs about everything, I love it! :) It's cute, b/c I'll go to blow on her belly and make noises, and she laughs and tightens her belly before I even do it b/c she knows what's coming! lol! I just love her so much, she's such a blast! :) I know that when the move is complete and my house is in order that I'll have so much more time to check in! I've really missed you all!!

Keyan & Rachjas- So happy to hear the adoption process is moving right along for you guys!! My cousin has adopted 2 babies, a boy and a girl and got them both at birth. We thought the wait would be a long time, but after they had everything ready to go and were playing the waiting game for their baby, they only waited like 6 months (maybe less!) for each baby! I know it will happen soon like that for you too!! :)

Guesito- Congrats with moving forward with IVF again! That's an awesome decision, and we have your back 100%! Im so happy for you! I'm praying it works! :)

Krichar- I'm a little late, but welcome to our thread! :) I'm sure your so anxious for your upcoming FET!! We'll all be praying for you! :)

Mommyin10- Isn't it crazy how fast time is flying! If it's been a week since you've been on here, it's probably been 2 or 3 for me, wow!! No wonder I miss you guys so much! ;) Ava will catch on with tummy time! Have you tried using a boppy or a pillow to raise her a little more? I know Addy didn't like it much at first when I'd just lay her on her belly on the floor, so I put a boppy under her and she loved it. Now she doesn't care, she's getting so big! At her follow up last week for her ear infection, she weighed 13 lb, 14 oz! I can't believe it! :)

Ok guys gotta run! I hope everyone's doing great!! :)

About our Homestudy, well yesterday we met the Social Worker at her office, we were there for about 1 hour, she asked us questions, about our family, our relationship, about why we want to adopt, etc, etc. then in the afternoon she went to our house, but first , she asked our neighboors for references, we really don't know what she asked for, but it was quick, she already had 3 references letters and she interview about 4 of our neighboors, then she went to our house and just looked a round and then she said, that our report was favorable, that she was letting us know in advance, that now she has to write down the report and we would receive the final notice within the next 2 weeks, but that she was already letting us know that is was favorable, she also mention, that they are running their own background ck for both of us, within goverment agencies, and that no further interviews of employeers or family members was needed and that we had concluded this step...YAY!! this is good for us of course, but what if we were awful people, lying or I don't know, I think the process should be more extensive before you put in the hands of adults a child, I don't know....just thoughts!! .....so now, after the final report, our names will be included in the prospective adoptive parents list, and then is just a waiting game to see when our baby girl will be matched....she (social worker) said that as of a month ago there were no children available for adoption younger than 7 years old, so who knows how long it can take...maybe a year, less or more ...;o(

Mommyin10: aww!  I hope Ava gets the hang of it soon!! ... what's their weight now? You know, I was so used to the other profile pic, that now, I forget when I don't see it and then I see your new one, and It just puts a smile on my face, it is a great pic, should be a magazine cover!!

Rachjas: as you can see our process was shorter, probably because it is the goverment agency doing it, and they don't charge any $ for it, it is free, she told us not to buy anything, that unless it was an infant, I would have plenty of time to buy, and if it was an infant, I would still have time, but less....May is coming up soooo fast, you will have your procedure done and be on your 2ww in no time!!

Guesito: aww thanks for thinking of me!!  I am so excited for you IVF process! good luck!!

Leighanne: Thanks! :) You read my mind. I was going to ask if someone would update when I'm not around. Geez, it's almost been a week! Ad_06 & kmcarino add a week every Wednesday & Help4baby adds a week every Saturday. We should double check to make sure their weeks are correct since I haven't been updating as often as I used to.

Ad_06: How are you doing? I had the steroid injections as well & took meds to stop contractions. Sorry it's making you feel shaky! It's funny, back in December, the nurses/docs kept asking me if I could feel my contractions. I couldn't & couldn't believe I was actually contracting & dilating! I hope you're feeling better. The fluids & rest will do you good! Hang in there :)

Rachjas & Keyan: Keep us posted! You're both doing great & getting so close :)

keyan: How cute you saw another Carmelo ;) Ava is doing better with tummy time, but she still cries. I know she'll do better in time. Little Ricky's a pro :) OMG, How was your home study?!?

Sammy_J: How are you doing?! :)

keyan- I am soooo excited for you! Our homestudy was a breeze... My DH was interviewed first (about 2 hours). Then, we when I go home from work she completed the home inspection  (5-10 minutes) and then we did our couples interview (another 2 hours). A week later, I had my individual interview (2 hours). Some of the questions were really tough. But, I just had to be myself and honest. It got very emotional at times. We have told my two sisters and father and my DH's parents. We plan on telling more of our family soon (maybe even today). Some of our friend from work also know because we had to ask them for references. We need to tell our family soon because we plan to start networking anyday now!!! We have not gotten anything baby yet beside locks for doors and cabinets (needed them for the home inspection). We have gone back and forth about if and what we want to buy ahead of time....we are thinking a car seat, diapers (and necessities) and a uni-sex onsie?

rachjas: YES!! We are SO excited! we at first didn't tell anyone about our plans except if we had to, like for example, asking for reference letters, and just recently because we know is going to happend soon, we told our boss, because the social worker will also contact them to ask for our reference, and we have got a tons of different reactions. We are really happy!! ....how about you? Have you told your family? where are you now, how was the home study experience?

Mommyin10: I think your idea of the neutral room is great, we won't be able to have it done by tuesday though, maybe we can buy the furniture, but I think we will wait for the social worker and see what she thinks. thanks! how is Ava doing with tummy time, I like that! hopefully she starts feeling more comfortable soon. Oh! I almost forgot, the other day I was at the vet (just getting heartguard, they are both fine) and a dog, just like Carmelo walked in with his mommy!! I just thought about you and Carmelo!!! ;o)

Luvkayln: Hi! How are you? miss you around here!!

ad_06: I am sorry you have an UTI ;o( hopefully you start feeling better soon!!

My nephews name is Pierson Brooks!

Well as for my Ob appt yesterday, it didn't go as I'd hoped! The pressure that I had before was back.....so she decided to check me....well guess what? My cervix is really short, and he is really low! She asked if I had been having contractions and I told her no...I just have that pressure in the lower part of my tummy. So I had to go to the hospital, they gave me 2 bags of fluid and a round of antobiotic, and did a urinalysis which came back that I have a really bad uti....the nurse said that the monitor was showing that I was having some contractions, but nothing bad...... So now I  have to get plenty of rest.....drink lots of water and cranberry juice.....take brethine every 3 hours to stop contractions and ampicilin every 6 hours! I didn't sleep much last night with having to get up every  3 hours to take the brethine and I hate the way those make me feel! I feel all nervous and stuff. But I go back to my Ob in 2 weeks!

mommy- it is not the first time ricky will lovingly share throw up with you.  what til he gets bigger and more comes up.  I have had to stand in the shower with all my clothes on a few times because i could not even take my clothes off without getting throw up everywhere. i had to shower it off before i could even strip.  The Joys of Parenthood.
I am going to start an exercise program because i am small too, only 5 feet and i can not remain 164lbs.  Its smaller than i was before i got pregnant but i gained lots of weight prior due to being depressed from the miscarriages.  I am normally no more than 125lbs.  So i got to get working on this,

I am new to this group but mommy10 and I have been friends on MH since july 2009. I figured i would tell you all a little bit about myself and my journey.

2006-2007..6 cylces with just using clomid (no luck)
2007-2008..4 cycles of IUI with clomid and trigger shots (no luck)
july 2009- fresh IVF cycle (failed)
dec. 2009- FET (BFP but ended in MC at 12 weeks on Feb. 11, 2010)

Going this June for another FET, starting meds on May 6. I believe this group is going to be a great support system. There are so many people at different stages of TTC with different experiences. I am very happy and excited to join and look forward to being a support for all of you as well and getting to know you all.

I really believe in the motto "acclamation" of this group about strong women!!

I guess that's  why I didn't really understand tummy time.  I lay Shelby on her belly and  try to burp her while I pump.  Breastfeeding is so consuming I was trying to find a way to shorten t he time requirements.  She tolerates it well.  She came out holding her head up and rolled over the first time at 8 days old and then once more last week.  She only does that when she gets mad enough to arch her back.  She is so cute though.  I do have a boppy so I'll try that too.

We tried Similac Advanced, but he threw it all up, poor guy! ;( He did share with mommy, though! Haha ;) I had to change his clothes, mine & wash our comforter.

sbumble- do you have a boopy?  you can prop the baby on their tummys and use that for tummy time.  Or you can roll up a towel and put it under the front of the baby to propr them up slightly.  Other than that just lay them flat on a play mat and sit with the baby.  you want them to do tummy time so they can strengthen their neck muscles to being able to hold their head up will be easier.

ad- did you talk to your doctor about getting a prenantal prescription with less iron?  that will help with the constipation.

mommy- you can use mylecon if ricky has a hard time with gas.  I used to give Jaedyn a little but of it and then lay him on his belly across my knees and rub his back to help work the gas up.  it always helped alot.  he got relief and it worked the gas right out.  I agree having your tata's go back to normal size is good.  i unfortunately was small breasted to begin with so i got stretch marks on my tatas form pregnancy and BF.  i need to save up money and have some repair work done on this body.  between my scretch marks and my c-section tummy i am a hot mess. LOL  but its all worth it.

I have had more than 1 BM in 2 weeks, but I've only had 1 without taking the stool softner. I will make sure I talk to her when I go back Thursday.

So my appt with the diabetic doctor went fairly good. Out of 2 weeks of testing and I only had a few higher than what he wanted them.  He asked me if I knew what raised them? I told him yes....the one day I had pizza (which seems to be my craving now...lol) and the other time I just had another serving. So he said that since there is a reason they went up he is just going to keep an eye on it. He said that if my sugar starts to go up for no apparent reason then that is when he will put me on insulin. He was pleased with everything right now....he just told me to try to keep my levels under 100 and I go back in 2 weeks.

My sister in law had her baby on Monday :) we went and saw him yesterday and my goodness, that is when it really hit me.....I'm going to be a mommy!! It just really hit home because through this pregnancy we have been roughly 3 months apart....well now that he is here I know Conner will be here before we know it!!!  :) He is a chunk, He weighed 8lbs 3oz, they took him via c section because her others were only 7lbs and she had trouble with them getting stuck.....so they didn't take any chances.

Well I need to get ready.....I will update after my OB appt tomorrow!

Awww, thanks! :) As far as quitting breastfeeding, I stopped soon after getting home from the hospital. I was trying to do it, but I didn't feel like I had the time... So, I started doing it less and less til I finally stopped. After I stopped breastfeeding, I still pumped, but then I slowly stopped doing that, as well.  I did have blocked ducts when I went without breastfeeding or pumping, then I'd pump in the morning & dump it... I finally just stopped & the soreness subsided. For tummy time, place Shelby on her belly & let her try to push up her upper body and/or lift her head. You don't have to do it for a long time. Just watch her to see how long she can stand it ;) Ava cries the whole time. Ricky cries a bit, but he can lift his head really well. I posted a picture on Facebook ;) Send me a private message with your full  name & I'll find you on FB. Your email address got censored when you posted it before. That's awesome Shelby rolled over! Awesome, but scary too! Haha! Keep your eyes on her :)

dnikki-  Thanks for checking in... Shelby and I  are doing great.  I  am exhausted from this every  3 hours feeding schedule and can't wait for her to sleep for 4-5 hours at a time just so I can get a  little  rest myself but I'm not  complaining at all!!!   She is  doing so well I can tell  she  has put on some weight and we'll see the doctor on the 30th for her one month well check up.  I  can't believe that.  She'll be getting her pictures taken with me and daddy that weekend too so I am on the hunt for a cute outfit.  :)  Like she doesn't have  enough clothes... LOL.  So you went back to work?  At least you only have to leave them for 5 hours at a time.  That makes me jealous.  I think about having to go back to work and just sit and cry.  I can't imagine.  DH went back yesterday and I bawled all day long until my mom got here and took my mind off things.  I really liked the three of us being home together.  Too bad we have so many bills.  :(  Well take care, I'm glad everyone has adjusted so well in your house and I'm sorry about the pain you are having.  I'm not sure what that is all abou but I hope it  gets better.  XOXO

mommyin10- Question... how do you do tummy time?  Shelby has rolled over already!  She was on my bed while I was pumping after feeding her one day and boom!  Right on her belly she went.  And I was wondering about how you quit breastfeeding.  Did you just quit?  That sounds painful.  My ta ta's get so full if I  don't pump I am miserable.  OUCH!  I am still sticking with it as long as I can or 3 months, which ever comes first but when my time is up I am done.  I wish I liked it but it's very painful for me for some reason.  I don't think I would even  have considered it with two babies!  I  give you a lot of credit for trying at all.  You are a wonderful mommy!

I forgot to update for myself :)  We don't see the pediatrician again for two more weeks, but we'll make an appt with a plastic surgeon to take a look at Ricky's' hemangiomas.  The pediatrician feels that he'll eventually need probably just a laser procedure, but it's best to have the surgeon see how they look now so he can have a reference point in the future.  Ricky & Ava are both doing great!  He's out of size Newborn diapers and into size 1 and he's been taken off the 22-calorie formula (which they were put on in the NICU in order to gain more weight).  I would even supplement my breast milk because breast milk is fewer calories...  Anyway, he usually gets gas bubbles in his chest & cries while feeding...  the formula we switched him to last night is Similac Sensitive, and he did really well with his last feedings.  No crying, which is awesome :)  Hopefullyit's a good move for him.  My dad has nicknamed him little Budha!  We thought the same thing, seeing him sitting on our lap, so it was funny when my dad said that.  He is such a chunky little guy & just so cute :)  He's doing well with his tummy time & is able to lift his head on his own.  I'm so impressed :)  Ava is having a harder time, but she's much smaller than he is.  She did lift her head last night during tummy time, but not for very long & she cried the whole time, poor thing! Anyway, they are both doing awesome & I'm loving being home with them.  Although caring for two newborns can be challenging, they are really good babies & I'm just so thankful to be their mommy!  I will continue praying for each and every one of you ladies who is ttc, so that you will be in similar shoes one day...  You are all amazing women & will be awesome mommies!!! =)
