Can Estrace affect a fetus?

Hi everyone,

My DH & I will soon begin round 2 of our IVF adventure.  Our first attempt in late May was cancelled because the BC and Lupron I was taking over-suppressed me.  On June 7th, I started acupuncture to increase our chances of success.  I have weekly appointments and have also been taking Chinese herbs.

I've been taking 2mg of Estrace daily since June 23rd.  We're scheduled to begin Ganirelix, Menopur and Bravelle in a few weeks.   My last cycle started on July 8th and I usually have a 25 day cycle.  My RE thinks I'm going to start my next cycle on August 10th...34 days from my last cycle, which doesn't make sense to me.  Why does he think I'm going to start so late?  I should add that I'll be on Estrace through August 8th, and taking Premarin August 4th through the 8th.  The Premarin is supposed to bring on AF.

In the last week I've had a few people ask me if I'm pregnant.  When I sadly reply, "no", they are surprised... saying they "see it in my face".  Without realizing it, my DH and I had sex around the time I ovulate.  It's possible that we conceived on our own, right?  I'm concerned that if I am pregnant, the Estrace will affect the fetus.  

Any thoughts?

If your period is going to be induced around August 8th, then it makes sense to start your IVF cycle around 10th b/c you always start the meds on day #3 (as you probably know already). I honestly wouldn't put any faith in people telling you they see pregnancy "in your face," that sounds ridiculous... Estrace is safe, also; I took it until I was 6 weeks pregnant and was told to stop it then by my dr. - that was when the baby's heartbeat was first detected. Best of luck on your IVF :)
