Can HSG make you ovulate early?

Hello all.  It is very encouraging to read everyone's success with HSG.  But I have a few questions because I don't understand some of the lingo here (I'm new to forums).  My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 1.5 years now and got pregnant twice this year and lost them both times (7 weeks and 5 weeks).  I was told that I am a late ovulator, usually around day 18 of my cycle.  I have done 2 rounds of Clomid (1 worked, 1 didn't).  I have had ALL of the blood tests (all normal) and the semen analysis was normal as well.  I have been charting my temperature and LH surges for over a year now.  I don't know how to check for cervical position and I have not been charting the mucus, but I guess I will start.  My HSG was on 12/1/08 (cycle day 11), everything normal.  I started my ovualtion predictor kit on cycle day 16 to see if I ovulate, but nothing yet.  I should have ovulated by now.  Good thing we did start trying to conceive again on day 12 (every other day) but could I have ovulated early or not at all this month?  Thanks ladies and I hope to be amongst those that have succeeded soon.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, I am 35yrs old and my husband and I have been actively ttc for the past 4yrs.  I recently did an hsg on 13/4/2012, d10 of my cycle.  My period is not due until the1/5/2012 but on the 28/4/2012 i noticed light pink spotting on my panty shield but nothing on tissue.  Today 29/4/2012 i think my period came.  Could it be that the hsg caused my period to come early?

Hello!

I'm also wondering if the HSG dye that opened my left tube (right showed being completely blocked) made me ovulate early. I normally ovulate on CD 18-21, but I noticed a temp change last night (I don't record them anymore - I feel almost like a hot flash in the middle of the night) and CM looking egg-whitish so I took an OPK and it shows +. I'm on CD 14. I hope we're not too late to conceive this month...

The tubes being blocked makes sense to me. I'm 34 and since we started TTC a couple years ago, my menstral cramps have gotten progressively worse.

BTW: Because my tubes were/are blocked, the HSG was not easy for me. Major cramping!

hi , today i just realise that i had an early ovulation, instead of CD 16-18 , this month i ovulate on the CD 11-13 right after the HSG test (HSG on CD10), thats make me really confuse about getting pregnant with such a unstable ovulation....sad sad :O(
anyway, wish u good luck with your IVF and pray for u get preggo too !

Wow everything you described seems so similar to my situation ... About late ovulation and everything being normal. I have 30-31 day cycle I used to ovulate randomly from day 16 to day 18. My luteal phase usually was like 12 days which my doctor said is fine. I wish it was 28 day cycle with 14 th day ovulation as that seems to be ideal.
Finished 3 rounds of clomid with no success finally going for IVF as I cant wait for long due to some health conditions. I hope you get preggo with your HSG cycle this month. I did ovulate very early with HSG though. I ovulated on day 13.

hi tiggerbug, i think i have the same problem like you, i get my HSG done on CD10 last month 29/03/10 , and i m suppose to ovulate every month on CD 16-18, but this month my OPK show negative during the period which i m suppose to ovulate....so i do not know if HSG test will make me ovulate earlier or without ovulation this month....sad:O(

Thank you so much for your information (and the acronyms)! lol  To answer all of your questions, yes 12/8/08 was cd18 and today 12/9/08 is cd19 and still nothing.  I am not on Clomid this cycle, thank goodness because it gave me cramps.  But I was on Clomid last month.  I have been charting my temperatures and my temperature has risen lately, but the OPK still says no.  And we are still trying, so I am hoping I just didn't test for it in time and a miracle will happen and this one will last.  Thank you again for your kind words.  I will keep you updated.  =^.^=

Welcome!  First, let me say that I am so sorry for the losses that you have experienced.  I have never been in your shoes, but I can only imagine how painful that must be.  The good thing is, it sounds like you both are healthy, so hopefully you will get another BFP (big fat positive) soon!  Anyway, I've never been good at charting cervical position/mucus either, so hopefully someone else will be able to give you some advice there.  As far as your OPK's, today would be cd18 for you right?  Maybe it is just a little later than usual.  I would just keep up the BD (baby dance) and see what happens.  Are you on Clomid this cycle?  That can sometimes make you O later than usual.  What about your temps?  You said you've been tracking them, so I think that's really the best way to determine if you have O'd yet or not.  I've heard a lot of women that get pregnant soon after their HSG, so I hope you are another success story!  If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.  Everyone here is wonderful.  Good luck to you!  :)
