Can I be pregnant?

Can I be pregnant?

Hey Everyone,

This is my first post.  I just had my second miscarriage on feb 26th.  It was quite upsetting.  My first m/c was last year in May 2006.  My d/h and I have already starting trying.  I think I ovulated on march 22nd.  I had the cervical mucus and tempurature surge.  My question is could I be pregnant if we tried on the 19th and 20th and I ovulated on the 22nd.  My LH surge appeared on the 23rd.  Would it be too early to have sex on those dates?  How soon should I wait to test?  My cycle is usually 32 days but since I had my m/c I don't know where I stand. If anyone has advice please let me know.

Thanks

I'm not sure if that was a typo, you said you LH surge was on the 23rd.  That would mean your ovulation should have occured 12 to 36 hours after your LH surge.  If you bd two or three days before your ovulation, there is a good chance it may have worked.  Sperm can live in your system for several days.  I think up to five on the high end.  Best of luck to you.

It took me 6 weeks to get my AF after my miscarriage. I did ovulate during that time, but was not pregnant. I do caution you though, I thought I was and took a HPT and got a positive. Turned out it was the HCG left in my system from the miscarriage. If you BD'd in time to catch your ovulation it is certainly possible you could be pregnant. I had a friend get preggo two weeks after m/c and carried to  term with a healthy baby.  Wait a week or so and you can ask for a blood test to see if your levels are going up or down.

Thanks for the response guys,

I am a little confused about the LH surge.  I thought once you get a high temp, this means you have already ovulated and this is the LH surge.  I got a reading of 97.1- 97.4, and on the day of the surge my reading was 98.4.  Doesn't this mean I already ovulated on the day my reading was 98.4 degrees. My gyno said that I need to be on prometrium  since my progesterone levels were low from the last m/c.  He says to take it 3 days after the LH surge, so if surge (98.4) was on friday.  Should I start taking it monday?  I am so confused.  It's my first time charting.  Can't you tell? :o(

thanks for any advice,

I'm no dr but the way I understand it is: The LH surge induces your ovulation.  An ovulation predictor kit measures your LH surge.  So if opk tests positive for LH surge, you should ovulate 12 to 36 hours later.  Your temperatures goes up after you ovulate because your progesterone goes up after ovulation and this causes a slight increase in BBT temperatures. After you start your next cycle, count back 12 to 14 days and that should be around the time when your temperature shifted (o day).
