Can high FSH levels mean monoposal at the age of 33?
Hi
I have been ttc for last 8yrs. I have pcos and have had 5 IUIs but before the last IUI my FSH level on day 2 was 15.6 and the doctor suggested that I could be monoposal. Since I am only 33 yr old I am absolutely shocked also 2yrs back when I checked my FSH levels on day 2 were normal at 3.4. My T4
levels are at 132. Please let me know if the doctor is correct that I am monoposal and that there are very less chances of me getting pregnant. Also if the effect of raised T4
level that my FSH is so high? I am very desperate as my periods have also reduced to 2 days. I was pretty normal just 2 cycles back. PLEASE HELP I am worried sick...
i too was told i have high FSH levels for my age 33. my FSH is 9. but they also did the clomid challenge and they gave me 2 ultra sounds on my ovarian reserves. have they did that with u yet? i was really scared too when they told me my FSH was high for my age. but they eased my mind some when they told me i should be fine after seeing the ultra sounds. hope that helped a little. good luck with u...
Unfortunately, it does happen that even younger women can suffer for a premature ovarian failure. A lot of people don't know that women are born with all the eggs they will ever produce and that the number diminishes over the years. My fertility clinic published a study recently showing that women lose as much as 90% of their eggs by the age of 30! What a lot of women also do not realize that the decline in female fertility is usually not a gradual change, but happens rather suddenly. I am sorry to hear that your FSH levels are high at ony 33 years old, but you also need to know that there are PLENTY of women that have achieved healthy pregnancies even with higher FSH levels! Don't lose hope! Best wishes :)
I heard that if you are on fertility drugs, that can affect your FSH as well. Were you on any kind of drug for your IUI's? I am 38 and my FSH is at a 9 but literally 2 mos prior to getting the 9 my FSH was at a 5 so i was perplexed as to why it jumped in 2 mos as well. Also, what is the normal lab range for your T4. If T4 is high, this could be why you are having ferility issues. You may have to go on a T4 medication to lower that before you can get pregnant. this can affect your menstrual cycles as well as other hormones. good luck!
I suggest you to read the bookd called "inconceivable",borrow it from ur library.it's a story of a woman which FSH 30.4 at age 43 and how she got pregnant against all the odds..it's a good encourament....
