Can you take clomid on cycle days 8-12

This is my first time taking Clomid.  I usually ovulate on day 17 or 18 so my doc. prescribed clomid for Cycle days 8-12.  Is there a reason why so late?? Every thing I have read has been days 3-7 or 5-9.

Thanks.  I wasn't sure if there would be any danger of doing it late in my cycle.

Your doctor is trying to control your "O" date. Studies with Clomid have shown most women "O" about 5 days after your last clomid dose so they are trying to time your date to something specific. maybe due to previous follie growth or endo lining.  Let us know what this cycle produces. Good luck XOXO!

Don't know why so late a date. I was told by my Dr to take 2-6 days of my cycle.
Maybe it's because you ovulate on 17-18 days of your cycle.
Most women tend to ovulate between 11-16 days.
Hopes this help

I would ask the doc why he uses days that are so different from the norm. I was on days 5-9.
