I'm just looking into other options that might be possible for us for TTC. I've been trying to research how much injectibles cost in Ontario (before applying the bill to your Insurance). I've found a few websites that you can order fertility meds online and have them delivered but I think they are only for the US. Just wondering costs from your local pharmacy and also if anyone from Canada has ordered from the net and had them delievered because their costs are insanely cheap!! (fertilitymeds *******)
Hmmm, I'm from manitoba and absolutely nothing is covered under our provincial plan, or the extended health care plan that i have through my work.
If you get any info on how to get cheap drugs in canada, please let me know.
Actually, when I was picking up a prescription for femara, the pharmacist said that he and his wife had been through a myriad of fert drugs and treatments with the same RE that I have. He gave me his card and said that he would be more than happy to answer any questions that I might have. If I can find his card, I will email him and ask him about the legalities surrounding drugs purchased online.
I think the irony of the whole situation is that the majority of online pharmacy companies selling to americans actually operate out of canada, we just arent allowed to purchase the cheap drugs.
If you find anything out, please let me know. I will do the same for you.
In Ontario, OHIP covers the procedure for IUI, but we have to pay for the sperm wash (ranging anywhere from $200-$400 depending on the office). Which is then tax deductible at the end of the year. Then your meds, Orals can be sent back to your insurance (through work) but I have no idea about injectibles, so I'm trying to wage my options as I doubt that they are covered - just from responses from general answers.
Now, as for the websites, there is one in the UK that apparently delivers here, but that's realllllllly pushing it. At least with ordering in the US we know it more than likely came from Canada anyhow.
I just can't believe that our local pharmacies are our only option for getting meds.
Hopefully we'll get a few responses on here to help with our answers! :)
