Can't believe I'm going to do ivf again......

I just got back from my doctor's appointment and we are going with ivf one last time.  My doctor has every confidence in the world that it will work this time.  She does think the reason why I was getting pregnant was my tubes.  I just wish I had enough confidence in this as she does.  So, my cycle should start in the middle of Feb.

This is actually my 7th ivf and to be honest I'm more scared and nervous than any other ivf I did.  I keep on telling myself I can do it one more time and to be strong and positive.

Good luck to you!!  I will be starting my 6th IVF cycle tomorrow, well the 1st stage of my protocol begins tomorrow.  I should be starting all the meds next Wed or Thursday.  Stay positive!  My girlfriend just told me about a friend of hers who did 10 IVF cycles and the LAST ONE was the winner!!!!  Good luck (to all of us)!

Betsta-  I'm really trying to stay positive.  Good luck on your ivf cycle.  Can I ask what your protocal is?  Have you ever had luck with your other ivf cycles?

My RE has me wear an estrogen patch, which I change every 3 days until AF arrives, then I leave it on until it either falls off or I trigger.  My estrogen level is fine, but he wants to give it a little boost at the on-set of taking the meds.  So, I will start the patch tomorrow, then take a ganirelix shot on Wed, Thurs and Friday.  Wait for AF to show, go in for baseline blood and u/s and then start meds.  I will be on 525 of follistim and 75 of luveris for 12-14 days (follistim usually drops towards the end of the cycle).  What protocol are you on?  Our 4th cycle did result in a pregnancy, but we m/c at 5.5 weeks.  We were just thrilled that I could get pregnant.  It certainly gave me "hope" that this just might work, so I am determined to do everything I can.  Are your cycles covered through insurance?

Betsta- I'm going to be on 225 of follistim and 225 of Reprones.  My dr. told me to start my meds on day 2 of my cycle this time instead of day 3.  I got pregnant during my 2nd ivf cycle, but it turned out to be ectopic.  My insurance does not cover ivf, so we pay out of pocket.  The clinic I go to did donate meds to me which was helpful.

That is great that they donate the meds. Our insurance doesn't cover it as well. I can't imagine the cost of 7 IVFS!  I pray that 7 is the lucky one for you, you really deserve it. Keep us posted!

Your follistim dose is low, which is good for you.  I'm not sure how old you are, as I think that may or maynot play a part in the level, but I am on the most aggressive plan, so I can't really go much higher with my follistim number.  When we started IVF, my dosage was lower and I was on gonal-f, but after a couple cycles, my RE changed me to follistim and started me at a higher dose, then he would lower to 325 after several days.  I'm sorry to hear that you have to pay out of pocket...we would never be able to afford this if we had to pay.  It's great that your clinic helps you with the meds...I think they should. I know that many women donate their unused meds to our clinic for this exact reason and the day I get a BFP and have extra meds, I will definitely be donating my meds too, in hopes of helping someone out.  We will be close on our dates for starting our cycles.  Good luck to you!!!!!!

Betsta-  It really sounds like you have a really good protacal.  I think that I'm going to be on only 225 of follistim is because I'm also going to also be on 225 of repronex.  I'm 33 and not a good responder to the tratments.  Out of all the fertility medicines I had to take for ivf Follistim and repronex work the best for me.  Keep me posted on how you are doing during your cycle.  Good Luck!!!
