Can't stay pregnant

I am a 43 year old (a young fit and healthy 43). I have now had 8 miscarriages over 2 and a half years. The pregnancy seems to go wrong around the 4.5 to 7 weeks mark but on one occasion I did go to 12 weeks. On the last 2 pregnancies I have taken progesterone and aspirin but they don't seem to help. Blood tests show no problems for me or my husband. We seem to conceive easily. The scans show the sack but no developments within. We are at a loss now to know what is causing the miscarriages or what tests we should be looking to do to find out what is wrong so we can correct the problem. Can anyone help please.

When I had my miscarriage last August, they did a hyteroscopy and found build up that didn't show up on the ultrasounds. I hope you find the cause soon and get it fixed soon : )

Have you ever thought of doing egg donor?
Im 41 and about to find out if I am pregnant on wednesday but have very little hope. next step will be an egg donor. It took me forever to make that decision but my eggs are no longer good obviously so I want a baby soon before I get any older and the egg donor is a 50% chance they say instead of my current 3% of delivering a live baby .

Good luck!!!

Are you seeing an RE? I have had 2 mc and 1 chemical pregnancy over the past 3 yrs. They also found nothing wrong on all the tests.

Once I went to the RE he did some additional tests. He ordered a 2 hr glucose test, testing glucose and insulin levels at 1/2 hr, 1 hr and 2 hrs after drinking the glucose drink, and found that I have borderline insulin resistance. This was after my previous tests with OBGYN (fasting glucose, fasting insulin, and 2 hr glucose looking at glucose only) all came back normal. He said my case was very borderline but women with insulin resistance have a high rate of mc. He put me on metformin, which has shown to reduce the mc rate of women with insulin resistance from 60-80% to less than 10%. btw, I was really surprised to find out I am insulin resistant bc I am not overweight, exercise regularly, and eat a very healthy diet.

He also started me on clomid bc he said that can increase the quality of the eggs and give the pregnancy a better chance. I also asked about using progesterone, and he said that often the low progesterone is a result of poor egg production in the 1st half of the cycle, so treating with progesterone in the 2nd half of the cycle in that case does not do much. He said increasing the quality of the eggs in the 1st half of the cycle with clomid or other drugs would be the better choice for me (also, tests showed the my progesterone level on day 17 was within normal range without any drugs, so my problem does not appear to be too low progesterone).

Also, a good friend of mine started ttc at age 40 and had multiple mc over 5 yrs. Her RE determined it was due to the quality of her eggs. I don't know how they determined that, but I do know that they never heard a hb on any of the pregnancies. She decided to try donor eggs and had healthy twin girls at age 46. Good luck to you!
