Cervical mucus and ovulation

I'm on day 8 of my cycle. Yesterday, i started to have what felt like ovulation pains already. Usually this doesn't happen until at least day 10 or 11. then this morning i had a HUGE glob of stretchy cervical mucus tinged with blood. (sorry if TMI). I then did an OPK this afternoon and it was negative. I mean REALLY negative - just a hint of a 2nd line if that.  Has anyone had this happen before? i haven't seen any more CM since that glob this morning. do you think this means ovulation? it seem so early and why would I have CM like that if I'm not ovulating for maybe 5 more days? i guess I'll just start bding (just in case) anyway.

I usually ovulated two days after the pain, so hopefully that means you are ovulating on CD 10 if you are like me.  I just know that lately I have been right on with ovulation, so don't doubt yourself and yes bding now is a good idea.  I would go every other day, since your FSH is low this month, could be your month!!!

It's not unusual to have fertile (stretchy) cervical mucus for a few days before ovulation, so it doesn't necessarily mean you're ovulating now...but yes, it's probably a good idea to start BD'ing anyway, since the little swimmers can live for several days in fertile cervical mucus. Best of luck this month!
