Clomid days depend on reasons you are taking clomid. If you do not ovulate then 5-9 is often prescribed. If you are taking clomid to improve your chances, 3-7 is often given. May also depend on your ob's preferences.
Good luck!
I have PCOS, i don't have periods so i don't ovulate, so i have been put on Provera to bring on a period so that i can ovulate, my fertility specialist has told me to take Clomid on days 5 thu to 9, but i have been reading alot and minimal amount of women have been taking 5-9 they seem to be taking days 3 thu to 7, and having success, i'm so worried that it's not going to work. I have a 5 year old, that was concieved naturally with no problems at all, so they are saying that i can ovulate, but that was 5 years ago, would it still be the same? :(
I have pcos and I'm trying to get pregnant with my first child. My OBGYN has me taking clomid on 5-9 as well. I don't think it should matter when you take it as long as it makes you ovulate. Keep me informed and I'll so the same. Hopefully it'll work for both of us!
Hi honey i have been prescribed clomid to start on my next cycle on days 2-6,i ovulate on my own so maybe thats the reason im not sure. But from what i can see here in the uk its prescribed on earlier days.SSBD xx
Hi there :)
So your a 1st rounder aswell, so I'm assuming you would be feeling very aprehensive about it all? That is alot earlier than I have seen. What dose will you be taking? How come your taking clomid if you ovulate on your own? There are so many questions that I have about all this but I guess everybody is different and have there own problems/ reasons for being on different days and dosages....
I also ovulate on my own but was prescribed Clomid (days 3-7) to regulate my cycles and it worked! last 2 clomid cycles were 31 days and I was better able to detect ovulation (earlier it used to be all over the place due to irregular cycles)..but i did get a lot of side effects...and felt it was thinning my lining...so am going off to try a new medication next month onwards ..
Hi hun,yes i am a 1st rounder ha ha,and you guessed it feeling aprehensive too.I have 50mg and have to take it for 6 months.I am 41 years old so im not producing big enough follicles
and its for that reason im taking it.I have heard many stories about clomid, that your cycles get longer and you ovulate later than you normally do.Well thats understandable if your cycle is longer then obviously you will ovulate laater too.My doctor has given me clomid as he thinks it might help.I ovulate on my own every month but i only have 1 fallopian tube so thats another issue. But heres hoping it works and if any of you ladies can tell me anything about side effects then it will be very much appreciated thank you xx
and do not ovulate. Today is the last day I take Prometrium (Progesterone) 200mgs, i have taken it for 10 days. Start Clomid on day 3 of my cycle and then start Estradiol 3mgs 2 times a day for 5 days, then Prometrium there after unless i start my period. Is anyone else doing someting similar? Good luck to us all, I am so nervous.
6 months! wow really,i didn't know it could be taken like that but i'm realising there is an awful lot that i still have to learn about all of this, Lol. Well i'm 25, and have PCOS and had my son 5 years ago with no assistance (and have only recently found out about the PCOS,because i was on the pill, it masked it) i haven't had aperiod in only God knows how long, so i'm thinking when i actually do have a period that i ovulate but seeings though i have 1 every 6 months or so it's obviously hard to track my ovulation... if any. Well i start Clomid tomorrow (so excited but trying not to be, Lol) so i'll let you know if i get any side affects, sending lots and lots of luck your way :)
I will also be starting clomid soon. maybe by the end of the week. Its all so much to intake.. esp wondering about all the side effects i am going to experience.. this is my first time in all of this so i am hoping it all works out... I also have PCOS and my ovaries are blocked
Hi :) i said i would keep you updated on the/if any side effects,I started Clomid today and I had a headache from after the 1st hour that i took it for a few hours but so far so good, nothing else to report as yet :)
Took the full round of Clomid and not one side effect. I was expecting something but felt the exact same also felt no different taking Prometrium 200mg for 10 days. Tomorrow I start the estradiol 3mgs 2 times a day for 5 days,
!! yay!!! it's still has some more maturing to do (it's 13mm) so i have to go back in 4 days and have another scan to see how much more it has grown, they grow up to 2mms a day so they want mine to be betwwen 16-26mms (because of my age) so i can relax now, knowing that the Clomid has worked to develop the follicle, now all i have to wait for is ovulation!!!! ( and if i don't do it naturally, they will give me an injection to make me)
Hi honey thats good you have a follicle and a good size too.you had a headache on the first day from the clomid,i did too and i never have sore heads.13mm is good and it has to get to 26mm?I got told today i have 3 follies 10,11 and 13mm but they have to be between 18-22?But i just learnt that sometimes follicles ovulate/rupture and dont have eggs? Not sure how much truth is in that though hun.I would have thought that as i am considerably older than you that my follies would need to be much bigger also?Think im still learning about all this fertility stuff but each day i seem to know more so thats good.Anyway wishing your follies get much bigger and SSBD xxx
i have taken clomid 50mg days 5 to 9 and on first round concived our son.hes fixing to be 2 and were going to try for another baby.hope we have the same luck as first time.beings i am now all most 35.
Clomid days 3-7 vs. 5-9 can change through your doctor depending on if they think you are ovulating sooner or later. My progeterone levels had detected that I ovulated later than the normal average, so they changed it. When they predict you are suppose to ovulate is when you are supposed to be having intercourse every other day for those who are just on Clomid and not for IUI or IVF. That way you are scheduling around same time you should be ovulating. I hope that makes sense.
