Clomid ?

May was my first month of me taking clomid.  I was under impression that my cycle would now be 28 days instead of 35-40.  And today is my 31st day since the first day of my last period and no signs of it comming.  I do have tender breast and the doctor told me that would be expected.  Is this normal for a cycle to be this long on clomid?
Thanks for any info.

It took me about 6 cycles of Clomid before I finally ovulated, therefore regulating my cycles, so it may just take you a few months.  Hang in there!

I just want to add that not only are my cycles long on clomid, but I didn't O until CD 21 and CD 19 - something I've had other women say as well.  It's good to know because my first month I was literally just about to give up on the strip tests, thinking "this is my last one - I give up" - and sure enough (it was CD20) it was positive!  Then my temps confirmed it.  So it's something you should look out for.

Yep, like Tina111 said, it seems like eveyone is different. My cycles before starting Clomid were 21-24 days. With Clomid, they have so far been 26 and 28 days and currently expecting af early next week. I too have sore breasts, I think this is due to high Prog levels, which generally means you've ovulated. Good luck. I hope your af stays away on your first Clomid month!

If clomid did not work for you you may want to inquire about taking femara.  You might have to go to a reproductive endocrinologist though - I doubt an OBGYN would have a protocol for it.  It is similar to clomid but does not thin the lining and works in a different way.  It also has a very short half life and is out of your system by the time of implantation.  Clomid binds to the estrogen receptor so the real estrogen cannot bind.  This makes the brain think the estrogen is level is low.  Femara on the other hand inhibits an enzyme that actually makes estrogen and lowers it that way.  SO if clomid did not work femara is a good alternative. The only downside is if you take femara when you are ALREADY pregnant it DOES cause birth defects, so most REs use ultrasound monitoring to be sure you are not pregnant already.  I have never taken clomid but I took one cycle of femara and I am already pregnant!!  I know it might just be good luck but to me it's been a great drug!!  Good luck!!

My cycles have been off since mc and longer than my normal 26-28. I took 1st round this cycle and o'd on cd12 which if not pg would make a 26 day cycle. I'm sure everyone has different results just like everything else. Have you taken a test? Maybe you are pg and that is why af hasn't come? Also, what day did you o? Has it been more than 14 days since o?

Hi there:  I'm also on my first round of Clomid.  My periods before were very irregular, 32, 34, 50 days etc.  I am now on CD 20 and am hoping that my period will come in the next week or so.  I have been taking my temp every morning and it hasn't risen yet, so I'm assuming that I didn't O this month, but you never know.  I'm on 50mgs, but hoping to go up to 100mgs next month.  How old are you?

i have been on clomid 150 a day and well my period was 28 days, and before i went on clomid they were around 30, so they should regulate. but be patient give it at least 3 months to get in your system. hang in there we will all get pregnant one day
