Clomid Dosage

Does anyone know what the standard dosage of Clomid is for the first cycle? I'm supposed to start Clomid with IUI on my next cycle, but I've heard that most people don't have success with that until their 3rd cycle. I only get my period once every 2 to 3 months and my husband and I have already been trying for 2 years to get pregnant. I don't mean to be impatient but I'd really like to speed up this agonizingly slow process.

when my doctor put me on Clomid for first cycle.. It was 50mg... i took that for 3 cycles then she changed to 100mg... after another 2 cycles then went up to 150mg... I took about another 2 cycles then the doctor changed to different drugs.  I was on Clomid about 7 cycles then doctor switched to Femera..After 10 cycles trying, she sent me to Infertility Specialist and I have treatment for 3 cycles.  the 4th cycles he did Laparascopy to look at my uterus...

my infertility treatment:
3-7 - clomid or Femera
3, 5, 7, 9 - injection to help follicle
8 - 12 - estradiol
CD 12 - sonogram.. if follicles look good
CD 13  or 14 -  injection to burst follicle
CD15 - IUI or BD
CD 15 - 30 - Prometrium 100mg.

I have 2 IUI done with those 7 cycles and not successful...

Each person react to this drug different.. To me when I took this Clomid.. my uterine lining getting thin... Once your lining is thin... conceiving is really hard because no place for your eggs to implant..

I was TTC since 07 until I stop trying in April 09... I was off the medicine and had Laparascopy surgery in April... somehow, some miracle I ovulated late in April (4/23 - 4/25)  and got pregnant.  I am 10 weeks now...

I guess once you don't think about it... your body relax ... and you are stress free... then its work....

Don't give up... I was same boat as you are.... Trying and trying... pissed off... gave up... depressed...but this forum helps me alot especially all the ladies in here who gave me courage to go on...motivate me to keep trying....
