Clomid First round!!

Hi ladies!
I have been ttc for about 8 months now, last November I was diagnosed with PCOS and had all the cysts and symptoms. I was prescribed metformin and spirolactin and began birth control. In March when I started ttc I stopped the birth control had regular periods until July then didn't have a period at all for 3 months and negative HPT and blood tests :(. My doctor put me on Progesterone (1 pill for 10 days) and I received my period 4 days after my last pill. I am on CD 3 and my doctor prescribed me Clomid CD 5-9. I have been taking Prenatal along with B6, folic acid, zinc, primrose oil, Vitex, metformin and drinking red rasberry leaf tea. My question for you is did anyone have success doing this or did more people have success doing 3-7? I was debating doing 4-8 since I know most doctors prescribe Clomid 5-9 just in general 3-7 can cause more eggs but they are less mature so higher risk of miscarriage. I don't believe I have any other problems just irregular periods and cysts and I have never tracked ovulating till now (going to get OPK) and I am tracking temperature. Tips, tricks advice and success stories would be helpful and hopeful!
Thank you and lots of baby dust!!

Most regular obgyns give clomid or femara CD 5 - 9 and most RE's or fertility docs say 3 - 7 is better.  If you're being monitored your doctor wont give you the hcg shot until your follicle(s) are mature enough.  My RE does it after they have reached 20mm.  I have gotten pregnant on taking clomid and/or femara CD 3 - 7.  I also started taking progesterone 2 days after my IUI.  The first pregnancy (ended in miscarriage) I had very low progesterone even on supplements and this one I had pretty high progesterone.

I was on metformin also - 1500 mg.  We also used preseed.

I did not ovulate at all, I used OPKs for over a week, and I was checking my CP and CM. But unfortunately no signs of ovulation.

I also have PCOS (diagnosed 1 yr ago) and been ttc for almost 2 years. did my first cycle of clomid, 50 mg, CD5-9, 2 months ago with no success and no Period for the past 2 months. I am now on starting Fertilaid, is a natural supplement and helps regulate hormones and fertility issue, I just started it today, hopefully it will work. Take a look at it! ^.^
