Clomid! What's next

I just got through with my 5th round of clomid. I was wondering what is next if this don't take. I go and see my re on the 13th.

i went through several rounds of clomid (3 pills a day)as well, I believe six, be careful there is a limit.  It worked once 3 years ago, but it was eptopic so I miscarried.  I just went through my first IVF cycle and thank GOD it worked I am now 7 wks preg with twins!  Depending on you problem you can do clomid with IUI or injectables with IUI before trying IVF.  Hope this helps Good Luck!!

Hi Susan, do the docs say why you had eptopic pregnancy? What is it depend on?
Did you do IUI before IVF? I guess if you did, it didn't work

I did the 3rd and 4th month. I don't know about this month.  I have gotten pregnant before but it ended in 2 miscarriages. It's been almost 2 years since the last one. The first time it only took two rounds and the second one took three rounds of clomid.

I don't understand how come you miscarriege? Is that beause of clomid or what was wrong?? How long were you pregnant before mc? and how did you know you O on Clomid?

my progestrogen levels were low. I was 7 weeks with the first one and 3 with the second one. They are going to start me on suppositorys the next time I get pregnant.  I did the OPK and went in for blood work to make sure.

Hi Anya, I was just noticing you wanted to know how to tell if you O on clomid.. There is a Ovulation Predictor Kit that can tell you when you ovulate.. Also if your only CD 13 you probabally havent O yet. I ovulate on CD 14-16 so i would give it a few more days.. good luck

Thank you because I am a lil discouraged. I am taking OPT but it gives me weird results..the one line is lighter than the other one, so I guess im not O yet..I will take one on Saturday and Sunday the same time and see if I O..I hope so!!!

I was on clomid + HCG shots for 6 month.  I'm not if that's the limit, but my ob/gyn sent me to a fertility clinic, and now I'm on the injectables (2nd cycle).  We continue to BD, but if it doesn't work this month we might try IUI.  I'm responding to injectables better than to clomid, but somehow it hasn't worked so far.

My RE will only do 3-4 cycles with Clomid.  Then, he moves on to injectables.  This month I am moving on to injectables with IUI.  That is standard to do IUI with him....I guess he figures why chance it when we are spending a fortune on injectables.

before you start injectibles ask about femara.  it is similar to clomid but much cheaper than injectibles.  it is worth a try.  it does cause birth defects if you take it if you are ALREADY pregnant so just make sure you are not pregnant when you start it.  I got pregnant on my first round of femara with hcg trigger.  good luck.

Drs don't really know why it was eptopic, I haven't read anyway of any particular reasons, but I have been told that if you have an eptopic you have a greater chance that repeating itself. I tried clomid with insemination, that's how I ended up with the eptopic. I have PCOS so ovulation is was big problem for me, on clomid I only developed one egg per cycyle even at the highest dose. I went straight for the IVF because i was so tired I think I just wanted results...I was so tired 6yrs of trying
