Clomid and ovulation

Hi ladies.  I am on Clomid 100mg on days 5-9.  My RE told me to start my OPK on day 12 and to call them when I saw any type of surge line. Instead of waiting until day 12, I took a test on day 10 and saw a surge line!  I didn't call my RE and decided that if I saw a line on day 11 and 12, I would call.  Then, I took a OPK on day 11 and day 12 (today) and there isn't a surge line.  I thought ovulating on day 10 is too early, but is there a chance that I've missed ovulation?? Why would I have a surge line on day 10 and not on days 11 and 12??  Any advice???!!  Thanks!

I was told that if you took the OPK too close to when you took your last dose of clomid that it could cause a false positive on an OPK.  I'm having the same questions as I'm on CD20 and still no ovulation :-(

I was told the same thing.  The CLomid probably threw off the results.  What day do you normally O on???

I think you are yet to ovulate. Coz clomid often delays ovulation..so still use the OPK or ask your doc to do some scan..and bd every alternative day....

cd 10 is too early to ovulate...so i dont think you missed it...

Thanks everyone.  I usually O somewhere around day 16, so I was thinking day 10 was a little early.  I didn't know about the Clomid possibly giving a false positive, so thanks for that info.  Now, I am just hoping to produce some mature follicles so that I can have an IUI soon!!!  Thanks again for all the info and good luck to you all!!

I take mine days 3-7 and two months in a row I ovulated on day 18. I learned real quick to wait to test cause my first month of testing I was peeing on sticks constantly and increasing the grocery bill buying tests!! It drove me nuts ;)

I am also taking Clomid Days 5-9.  My OPK asked me to test on day 10 and immediately I showed a surge! I couldn't believe it as normally I ovulate around day 21.  HOWEVER my doc asked me to come in and do a blood test, and this apparently confirmed an LH surge.  So we did an emergency IUI on day 11, but now it is day 37.  I still do not have my period, but I am def not pregnant (I tested  6 times.) I did not know about Clomid causing a false positive and now know better than to start using the OPK before day 12.
