Clomid for the first time.

I know that many of you have been through the whole, clomid or not to clomid question. So that's why I'm coming to you wise ladies for help. My question is, after I've taken clomid how does it change my ovulation? My body rhythm is like clock work every single month but I don't if clomid will change that. Is there anyone out there that had regular body rhythms then after taking clomid, things changed?
Thanks,
Elle

i would not say the side effects are bad, but i did get bad headaches from it.  i did two clomid cycles and then my dr. switched me to femara (much better) clomid can dry up your CM, but with femara i got lots of CM.  I am supposed to be on a break, seeing my RE 5-6, but I had leftover clomid and went ahead with this month on my own.  i did get the bad headache.  we'll see what happens!

What do you think of it?  I was really hoping to ovulate on my own this month, but with every day that goes by I'm thinking more and more it's not gonna happen.  Are the side effects bad?

I also ovulate on my own, but was prescribed clomid.  I have a luteal phase defect and supposedly this will correct it.

If your ovulation is normal why is the doctor recommending Clomid?  Usually it is recommended for ovulation problems.  It can lower estrogen level, reduce your CM, thin your endometrial lining and cause your ovulation time to shift in your cycle.  It also increases the risk of multiple births.  My doctor wants me to start it if I don't ovulate on my own this month, but I have amenorrhea due to anovulation, so it is probably required for me to conceive.
