Conception Queries need REAL Help!

I am 27, my husband is 32. I had a lap for a large ovarian cyst 2 years ago. I was asked to conceive asap but life wouldn't allow as I had more important things to do. But I did 2 follicular studies which showed that with a 24 day MC I was ov on the 10th day. And recently my Gynec sent me for a very painful HSG which showed normal patency. My thyroids and other blood tests are good too. But my uterus is tilted slightly backwards requiring me to lie on my tummy after SI.

My husband after much coersion tested his Semen which showed 20% motility. The count is as low as 30 mil from 1 ml. Since they found 2-3 pus cells he is on antibiotics now. They have also given him lycopene.

Both of us are overweight but doctors never bother with that at the moment. But my hsuband is obese and is physicaly inactive. Nothing works when it comes to making him exercise. I am better as I exercise regularly with a walk or some yoga.

We are under severe stress. And SI is quite less going to 2-3 times a month. I have a very low libido too.

My questions:

Is my husband's very low sperm count?
Will reduced number of sex interfere with sperm count/mot?
How to increase my libido?
What will the inj Placentex do?

I am so happy to see such a quick answer. Thanks!

I never realised we had to have SI so regularly and frequently. My gynec just said we will wait as DH is on tabs.

I had another question. Since my husband will be on antibiotics for 3 weeks can we have have sex without the fear of infection spreading on to me? I am already on antib (Ciplox TZ after HSG)

I am sorry to read about your struggles. i don't have all of the answers for you but a few I do.

It is recommended to not go more than 2 days without sex in order to help keep up the sperm count. However, we have gone 3 days prior to an IUI and dh had lots of swimmers. However, prior to ov, we did have sex every 2 days. Now if you dh's count is low, then every 2 days may not be a good so best bet is to check with your doctor. Have you gone to see an RE yet?

As far as your libido goes, you need to really search as to maybe emotions are playing a role with it after getting medical tests to see if there is a physical reason.  And sometimes, you just have to push through it, esp around ov. I didn't always feel up to the task.   Also how about some wine, maybe a cute outfit, a nice relaxing bath before hand, etc.

Good luck with everything.
