Hi Ladies! It's been so long since I've been on here, but I had a question. I've had two m/c in the past year and a half. I still had my period through both of them. The m/c's happened at what would have been the end of my regular period. I have never missed a period and am always very regular. I'm wondering if this sounds like I could have low progesterone? I've read a little about it but am not sure. AF showed up on Monday, on time. However, it's only day three now and I hardly have any bleeding at all, which is unusual. I'm thinking of taking a test later today - bc I'm wondering if I could in fact be pg again, even though af showed - since that happened both times before. I was feeling really sick Yesterday, but attributed it to being car sick since we were returning from our vacation
. Now I just don't know. I guess my main question, is, if I am pg, and I have low progesterone, is there anything that can be done right away - I don't want to lose another one. Of course, if the test is positive, I'll call the dr right away and tell him I want to come in tomorrow, but if I'm pg, will I have enough time to start whatever kind of treatment there would be for low progesterone if that is what is wrong?? Or is this something that should be done before ttc?
Hi,
My doc said that if you're progesterone is low when you find out you're pregnant it usually indicates a bad pregnancy...and starting progesterone AFTER you find out your pregnant will usually not help. THis is what happened to me..
So after I miscarried she put me on progesterone in oil shots 2 days after IUI....
Good luck!!!
Thanks for the reply! Not exactly good news, but at least I would know what's going on. I'll take a test tonight and see. Hopefully I don't have low progesterone, but either way - I'll be glad to know. Thanks!
Since you've had 2 mc you should be able to call your dr and have them call or fax a lab order to have progesterone checked and not even need an office visit. I know the check it after o, but forget what day.
