Could it be twins or triplets?

We just finished our 3rd IVF cycle and found out that we are pregnant!  We did the embryo transfer on 01/17 trasnferring 3 embryos.  Our blood test was on 01/28 and my HCG level was 422.  I repeated the blood test on 01/31 and my HCG level was 1574.  Does this mean that more than one embryo may have implanted?  Do you think that since my levels more than doubled that the pregnancy is a viable preganacy (pregnancy) and we will be able to get a heartbeat at the ultrasound?  Our ultrasound sound is scheduled for Feb. 14.  I have had two miscarriages in the past, but never got this far.  I am praying that this is a very good sign and that this pregnancy will be successful!

Wow!  Your first HCG was pretty high... and the second looks GREAT!  I would think multiples!!! Congratulations!

An HCG count around 1,080 is normal for a pregnancy of 6 weeks...How far along are they considering you????????

Congrats! has to be multiple. My 1st hcg was 428 after FET, then the next was little over double. Pregnant with twins, 33wks now. I had blastocyst (5day) transfer so at that time I was considered 3-4wks. Had ultrasound at 6wks, heart beat was there, but faint. Then at 8 wks strong heart beat.

What happened with the ther 2 IVF's? Did they not implant, or did you m/c?  Just asking cuz i am doing my 2nd IVF and the 1st I did get preg. but I m/c at 5-6 weeks.  I would love twins.  Keep us updated..

I was considered 4 weeks when I did my first HCG that was 422.  On Monday I will be 5 weeks.  I am getting another HCG done on Thursday and then next Thursday on the 14th we have the ultrasound.  We are praying there are heartbeats since our numbers look so well so far!  We are hoping for at least twins!  

Elizabeth250, With my 2nd IVF I got pregnant but miscarried about 5-6 weeks, so don't give up.  We are praying that everything goes well with this pregnancy.  The numbers are so much stroner than the last cycle.

Thanks for the info.  I just had my retrieval today, and he said they were able to get 3 good mature eggs.  Hopefully, they will fertilize and tranfer will be either the 8th or 9th. This time I am not stressing out .  It is ALL in GOD'S hands.  I'm not even telling my friends this time cuz I don't want to explain if it fails.  When you miscarried did the doctor give you any explanation on why?  With this new pregnancy did you do anything different?  I'd stand on my head for 5 hours a day if the doctor told me it would help to get preg. and have a health child.  I hope I have a story like yours and I'll be telling it in 4 weeks.  Good luck!

Congratulations, this is my 1st ivf cycle i go for my hcg test on friday the 8th i have cheated and took hpt and all came back neg i am alittle scared. But it might still be alittle early to tell. I had my retraival on jan 23 i put back 3 eggs on the Jan 26 and know this is the hard part wait this two weeks well i will find out on friday what is going on! I Pray all is well. And once again congrats!!! So happy for all the strong women on here going though this it is not easy! GOD Bless!

It does sound like multiples to me I had triplets and lost one and am now just carrying twins and my first HCG level at 11 DPO was only 92.9 and I thought that was high.....soooo good luck

Well I just had another blood test done today and my HCG at 5 weeks 3 days is 31,400.  They stated that they think my pregnancy seems like it is healthly and strong!  We are excited to go next Thursday on the 14th to get the ultrasound to see if there are multiples and to ensure there is a heartbeat(s)!

It's TWINS!!!  We got to hear and see both babies heartbeats!  They both had a heartbeat of 121 and were both 5.7mm in size.  We are very excited.  The doctor is going to see me weekly and do an ultrasound up to 12 weeks to ensure everything continues to go well.
