Could there be hope?

Hi there!
I just found out today that only 1 of my 2 eggs fertilised and it is now a 6-cells embryo (only).
Retrieval was on Monday so today is day 4 (count retrieval as day 1). Isn't it too small for day 4?
The doctor said that if it keeps dividing we will transfer it on Saturday, that would be day 6.
I am almost 39, poor responder with another failed IVF on my back.
Could there be a slightest chance of success if we manage to transfer it?
I am thinking of the bed rest and the 2ww and I do not want to go through it for nothing.
I would appreciate your honest views, I do not want to have false hopes.
Thanking you sooooooooo much!

Tommorow it is my 10dpt and my doctor suggested to do the blood test. I plan to do a hpt in the morning to get myself prepared. I don't feel positive at all and tommorrow is going to be a difficult day for me. Yet, no symptoms at all. Please keep in your prayers... Thank u so muchxxx

P.S. I was very active doing Pilates three times per week & a spinning class twice per week beforehand; but after my transfer, I stopped all exercise (I had a m/c from a natural cycle a few months earlier & had kept up the exercise). I really took it easy, didn't lift anything too heavy, etc.

I'm so sorry to hear about your m/c ;( We ttc for 3 years. Everything checked out ok w/me & dh, but his S/A was never excellent. We were very fortunate that IVF w/ICSI & a 5-day blast worked for us on our first attempt. I also did progesterone injections til I was approx 10 weeks. We're all different, but I believe dh & I just needed a little extra help getting my egg & his swimmer to finally meet ;)  Best wishes to you!!!

COngrats to you too.  I am also 37 & TTC. We just did our first IVF but resulted in m/c at 6 weeks.
How many ivf's did you have to do prior to conceiving the twins?  We will try again in a few months since I just had D&C...have to wait for AF.  Any advice???

Congrats! That's wonderful news :) Just FYI, we did IVF in July & only transferred one 5-day blast & we're currently 28 weeks with twins ;) Thought they'd be identical, but (after amnio) we learned we're having a healthy boy & girl. So, it definitely only takes one & you never know what'll happen! ;) When I was on bedrest after, I only got up to use the bathroom. Lay down or prop up w/pillows, whatever makes you comfortable. I watched movies & cuddled w/my dog ;) It was great practice because now (for the past 3 weeks) I've been on strict bedrest!!! I'll be thinking of you & sending my best wishes :)

The strangest thing happened to me yesterday...
I was expecting a call from my doctor early in the morning (she said she would call really early) to let me know whether my only one emby progressed into a blastocyst so we would transfer it the same morning.
After waiting for many hours (until 1pm) without any news from her I assumed the emby did not make it and I considered the whole cycle a failure and even cried a lot. When she finally called  I was really suprised to hear that she wanted me to go to transfer this one emby who has become an average blastocyst. So I went, had to wait for a few more hours with a full bladder (what a torture) and now here I am on my 2dpt trying to keep calm and hopeful and hating myself for needing to cough and for feeling constipated. Also my bag hurts from lying down all the time, I would appreciate any advice on what to do in these first couple of days.
Thank you

It's only one... I do not know if it is growing or not!
I am just sitting here waiting for the doctor to call me to tell me whether I am going to go tommorrow for the transfer or not.
I wonder whether she is waiting until tommorrow to call me (would be day 6) or whether I should call her....
I;m a bit nervous!

Remember you are a fighter......anything is possible.  The Dr can do his part..but your body has to do the rest.  It sounds positive but you need to STAY POSITIVE!!!!
It only takes one.......I am pulling for you girl!!! You can do this.

Hang in there, it only takes one. You need to worry as less as possible and relax and pamper yourself. Stay positive. Know that your friends are praying for you. Keep the faith.
Hugs...

There is hope, I wouldn't give up.  IVF can be a long and hard process, but I've heard of women in your situation who have become pregnant.  The chances arelow, and if it continues to fail, your only option may be to use a donor egg.   Again, don't lose hope.
