Hello ladies, I have a question for you all.
After my 2WW, I had my first beta on Friday(2-15-13) my hcg level was 469. On Monday I had another beta and my hcg level was 2, 085. I was totally amazed. Could such high number means my one egg transfer have split?
Wow! That's great!!! What day was your transfer a 3 day or 5 day? How many days past transfer were you on your first beta?
We have several sets of identical twins on here, and a few mono twins too...whatever you have, it sounds like a healthy start!!! :)
My first beta was 296 and that was 10days past a 5 day transfer. 2 days later, it was 539.
Congrats!! Sounds like a great start! I had 3 embies transferred on day 3. The perinatologist and my ob suspect they are identical due to the membrane that seperated their sacs was extremely thin. On some ultrasounds you could barely see it. Identical twins can have seperate sacs and placentas ( i didnt know this until i was preggo with my boys) my boys had everything separate. The only way to know for sure is to do a dna test on them which we plan on doing cause we are curious to know. Looking at my boys they look identical. No one can tell them apart really. Its pretty funny. Out of the 3 embies we transferred only 1 was of really good quality the other 2 were just ok. Anyway my beta at 11dpt was only 86 and then 14dpt it was 180 then at 17dpt it was 395. So mine were not high at all and I still had twins. I have a friend on here whos numbers were sky high and she only has one baby. I think you cant really go by numbers to find out if its twins or not. You will just have to wait till your ultrasound. Good luck and please update as Im curious to know if your having 1 or 2!
Sounds like a strong possibility, even though the doctors and nurses warn you that high hcg levels do not necessarily indicate multiple pregnancies. But if you want a multiple pregnancy then that is what we are naming and claiming right now! Good luck to you. Also, I had my first ultrasound when my hcg level hit the 3000 threshold. You should be headed to the big screen pretty soon Miky1537.
My ultrasound went great. We only found one sac, but my doctors believes that my egg still might have split. 2nd ultrasound in 2 weeks, then maybe we'll hear 1 or 2 heartbeats. I'm still sooooo excited!
