Cycle buddies Start Sept. 2010

Looking for anyone beginning their IVF cycles  around September 2010 told i needed to reach out and connect with someone who is going through the same thing as the DH and I. Please contact me if possible. Very interested in the success stories also since this will be our first time.

Hi there, I just posted about my situation. I am hopefully starting IVF then as well. As long as my blood work comes back okay the first week of Aug. My E2 level was high last cycle at 110 but FSH 7.7. It will be our first too. We have been trying for 2 years after a m/c at 10 weeks. It would be great if we could share our stories. I don't have anyone that truly understands. And if I hear "it will happen" one more time I am going to scream. Of course it always comes from someone with a baseball team of kids. (Sorry about the rant)

What have you done yet: blood work, injections, the pill?

Our RE has DH on 1000mg of Vit C and MVI and I'm on 2000iu of Vit D, Tums and prenatal.

So happy to hear from someone...
we have completed our SA for my DH and now we are waiting for AF on August 1st so we can do bloodwork and a saline ultrasound thingy. pending those coming out normal we will begin taking BCP's on September 1st hopefully. we told our parents and his were all excited, mine on the other hand said "why would you put yourself through that" so needless to say my parents are not quite as supportive would be great to be able to chat it up with someone who understands. i will do that little friend request thing. its great we are having the same experiences kinda a relief for me.

I will hopefully be going for FET#3 (my last 2 ended in miscarriage, 1st at almost 12 weeks and second one at almost 6 weeks) starting in September. I am just waiting for the RE to call me back as i am on a waitlist. My last miscarriage was at the begining of july so i am not sure if i will get the call this month or next but i am really hoping it will be with in the next few days! I will keep you posted if i am in your group or not! Good luck to both of you!

I did one fresh cycle july 2009 and have done 2 FET's so i have been through it all...Feel free to ask any questions and i might be able to help!

So it definately looks like we are going to be Sept IVF-ers. I think we are starting BCP on the same day or I'm starting one day ahead. As long as AF shows up on time on the 30th of Aug. I am so happy to share this with you. I just saw your other post. I can't believe that some people respond to doing treatments like that. I bet they didn't have a problem getting pregnant. Which is usually the way. You get your calendar Thurs right? You will have to let me know, I would love it if we are the same day.

krichar- I will keep you in my thoughts. I hope you get the phone call and can start with us in Sept. Good Vibes. Keep us posted when they call.

Well girls, this is it. I am so excited I can hardly sit still. I have never wanted AF to show up so bad before. This is going to be a long month, but fortunately I have a vacation coming up from the 21st til the 28th. Family fun time. DH and I are going with my parents, my sister, brother-in-law and their two kids. We rented a house on Sebago Lake in Maine. I can't wait to sit back and enjoy the sun for a week. Okay, enough rambling, I will keep everyone posted and maybe just chat for the next couple of weeks til we all get started.

Hey everyone!!! Im so hapy to find out you are all around the same time frame as me.  This will be my 2nd fresh cycle IVF.  I had a miscarriage late June at 6 weeks.  AF showed up august 1st and Im now waiting for august 14th to start Lupron.  ooooo how we love Lupron....lol  If everything comes out as planned I should be having the transfer done by Sept 12.  Hopefuly this will be our month and we get some good pregnancys and healthy babies out of this ordeal.  

krichar - here we are again, will love it if we can do it together, will pray for you to get that call soon.  

nmenyo - Im very excited too and hoping that God gives us a hand and we achive our goal!!!!!

rmartinez2009 - Parents dont always understand, they dont want to see us going thru such hard times.  That's what we buddies are here for.  I had IVF on June that ended on a miscarriage and my buddies were my biggest help.  Well krichar is here to testify for that, she was one of the great ones with great words.

Okay I have a quick question. I had my Day 10 ultrasound today. I had something like 15 follies on one side and 13 on the other. No stim drugs used. Only 5 or so were greater than 10mm. Does this sound normal? Do you think I will overstimmulate on the injections? I can't wait for the doctor to call me later, I am not being very patient :-) I just want everything to go smoothly for everyone this month.

Sisi2399 Ohhh, that is one month away, you must be so excited. As crazy as it sounds I can't wait to start the injections because that means we are that much closer to achieving our dream. Although, talk to me after a week of taking them :-) I might have a different opinion. Although the trigger shot scares me.

you guys are funny about the injections. i hate needles like a baby so this will  be a test of pure will power. thank you all for the support with my mom i just dont talk to her about it at all anymore. i start lupron on august 20th with a tentative egg retrieval on the 17th of september my DH's birthday.( i personally think this is an awesome day).

nicole i don't think you will overstimulate, when i went i had 10 on 1 side and 19 on the other and they said nothing about overstimulation.

Well RE called today but i have no idea why :( played telephone tag all day. I am hoping they are calling to set up another cycle. I am so happy we had so many frost babies...i DID NOT like the injections at all. Maybe i will find out more tomorrow...I will keep you all posted

Looks like i am out for September FET. RE wants to run some more tests and possible genetic testing to see why i keep miscarrying before i transfer any more embies. I used to have 17 frost babies and i am now down to 7 so they want to make sure first... (((((sigh))))) Oh well.... Good luck ladies!!!

Okay, the doctor finally called me back and everything looks good. Just waiting for insurance approval. He doesn't seemed too concerned with overstimulation. I do have one small 3mm fibroid, but they don't seemed to be worried about that either. I hope it is not something to be concerned about.

Rmartinez - Your DH's birthday, that is awesome. What a lucky day. Hoepfully all works out and you will be able to do the ET on that day. Good Sticky Vibes.

Sisi - You started your injections today, YEAH!!! I bet they are not as bad as the anticipation, huh?

Krichar - Sorry to hear the news. But It will be better to know whats going on than to have to go through another mc. Keep us posted and hopefully you will be a late entry in Sept :-)

So now just the wait for AF so I can start BCP. I feel like this whole process is "hurry up and wait" I am more of an instant gratification type of person, so this should be interesting :-) I hope everyone is doing well and have a great rest of the weekend. One more week til vacation YIPEE!!!

Well Ladies yes I started Lupron yesterday morning and I say yesterday cause is already 1:30 am.  Cant sleep and I dont know why.  Im actually feeling good and relaxed.  Before I had the injection it was like wow!!!! here we go again.  God pleae help me.  Im happy Im back at it.  Im cant wait to have my baby.

krichar - I know waiting is not fun but maybe is better then actually going and miscarring again, I know how painfull that is. But knowing there is a problem and resolving it is better then not knowing and not achive your goal of a baby.  god knows best.  I will pray for you to be back at it asap.  XOXOXOXOXO

rmartinez - itfeels great to have dates, is like you can drive yourself crazy counting every sec and you are actually enjoying it.  It would be great if you can for sure have your transfer on your DH birthday.  How exciting!!!!

nmenyo - I always ask myself why is it that I always have to be either wishing AF shows up or wishing it doesnt.  WOW GOd please help us.  I hope you see your AF soon so we can be close to eachothers transfer and blood work dates.

Had appt. with RE and he started me on BCP today. I'll start Lupron and Stims probably the 2nd week in Sept. then egg retrieval/transfer around the week of 9/20. Sooo that means I'm joining you all this September cycle. This will be my 2nd IVF attempt. Last IVF was successful but I miscarried at 16 weeks. I'm hoping to go all the way this time. I have two frozen embies but the plan is to do a  fresh cycle and hopefully we will have more to freeze for another cycle. I'm excited and ready to get going. Time is not on my side :)

Oh, yeah I wanted to let you ladies know that I have my first Acupuncture appt tomorrow. I am a little nervous because I had it done years ago for something else and it hurt like crazy. But the place is supposed to be wonderful so I am hoping that this helps. I have heard great things about acupuncture, so I am willing to try anything to increase my chances.

I wrote a journal about what happened today that i have left open if you all want to read it! Long story short if the blood work and SHG come back normal we will start superfact in sept transfer in oct. Maybe i can still tag along with you guys!!

Verysoon- Welcome back! I am glad you are going again...I was suppose to start but they are doing some tests to see why i keep miscarrying. If the blood works is ok and the SHG is fine i will start superfact (like lupron but a nasal spray...not injection) in september and FET in October...maybe on my birthday :)

LaPoo- Welcome!!! I have seen you on some other threads but never have had a chance to talk to you yet!!! Good luck on this cycle!


nmenyo- When will you be doing your IVF then? Just curious to your docs protocol! If you start BCP after your AF at the end of Aug. Will you be transfering in September or October? I will start my superfact (like lupron) after my next AF at the begining of Septmeber! as long as all the tests come back normal or fixable

rmartinez2009- good luck with the shots! I hated it as well but it was worth it! Just keep the goal in mind and it will be easier! SSBD and good luck!!

Kritchar - I just read your journal and wanted to say that I am so sorry that you were having a bad day. I too feel the same way. I m/c on June 20 2008. My due date was Jan 5, 2009. It just so happend that Fathers day fell on June 20th of this year. Horrible feeling for us both. And we just found out that our sister-in-law is due Jan 5th 2011. That kinda hurt too. Of all days why would they happen to fall on those. I still have my days but get through them knowing that I am doing everything in my power to see that we have a healthy baby. I never understood the meaning of "everything happens for a reason" until we started going through this. I used to think that statement was bull. Sorry for the rant, I just want you to know you are not alone.

Also my schedule is as follows:
BCP on day 2 of my next cycle (Aug 30th) for 3 weeks
cycle day 19 start  Lupron
and then a bunch of bloodwork and ultrasounds
then I should get my AF again,
then I start the other shots and monitoring.
I should have the ER in the last week of Sept or first week in Oct.

We should be right on the same schedule, I would love for you to tag along. I will keep my fingers crossed that everything comes back normal and okay to start. When are your appointment?

Rmartinez - 1 MORE DAY, YEAH!!!!!! Don't let the anticipation get to you, I know easier said than done. I can't wait to hear about how it was nothing after. We are such wimps but so strong at the same time. It is amazing what we will overcome to achieve this dream. You will be in my thoughts tomorrow for your big first day.

As for me - I am getting ready for acupuncture appt today. I will let you know how it goes. Talk about being nervous about needles. I am going to have like 20 of them sticking out of me in a couple of hours YIKES!!!!

Hey Doll, thanks for the welcome.  AF should come mid Sept and then I start meds, although; I'm not sure what they are yet.  My nurse just told me to call her on my 2nd day.  I'm excited and nervous again.  I did just find out that my insurance wont cover the entire thaw process so we have a hefty out of pocket expense. It stinks, but such is life.  At least I have time now to save it up.  I hope your results come out great and you can move forward again. Of course keep me posted.

My hubby is bound and determined to do it naturally this month.  We'll see what happens that would be superfantastic!

OUCHHHHH! what a way to wake up this morning. i could barely sleep due to anticipation and so i was up and awake at 640am CDT getting everything ready to roll. so i cleaned the top and then the site and then just filled the syringe and went for it. so now i have woken up to one of my worst fears and done it to myself> how ironic. the things we will go through for the love of a child makes it all worth it. it still stings a little and i can't tuck my shirt in for work. but other than that i have taken both my vitamin and the BCP on top of the lupron so off to work until 2. have a great day all.

Nicole i have text messaging. glad that you enjoyed acupuncture alot of women write on here that it does wonders. what else is up?

Randi - I am so proud of you. I knew you could do it. The doc gave me some good advice to ice the area down for about a minute before injection, it's supposed to help. I will be text messaging you all week from vaca, to see how you are. I am so excited for you and with you :-) I can't wait to go back to acupuncture, what an amazing feeling. Although I do have some cramping in my lower abdomen now. Maybe its just in my head.

Verysoon - Sept is right around the corner. Iam probably doing the ER at the end of the month b/c I have to be on the stinking BCP for 3 weeks.

As for me - still waiting, Uggg. Trying to get ready for vaca, sleep cuz I still have to work tonight and go grocery shopping for stuff we need. I wish there were a couple more hours in the day.

I can't wait to share this journey with all of you great ladies. We are so lucky to have each other in this time when no one else really understands and for that I want to say thank you. Well I went and got all my bloodwork for the clotting and antibodies tests done yesterday. 8 viles with a bruised and swollen arm later...I am still here! LOL!!! I actually hope the bloodwork turns up something so at least there is an answer that can be fixed... does that make sense? CD15 waiting for AF (probably another 12-14 days) then hopefully start my meds mid september (after the SHG comes back normal). I hat e all this hurry up and wait!!!

Received meds today so I'm defintely in for Sept. Also so acupuncturist today. Think I needed it but I can't really tell. I'm on a Microdose protocol with the following meds:
BCP
PNV
Doxycycline
Lupron
Menopuer
Gonal F
Valium
Hcg
Prednisone
Progesterone Ethyl Oleate Oil
Progesterone Suppositories
Also taking Maca Root and will defintely eat some pineapple the week of my retreival and transfer.

Visited my friend and got to hold her 4 week old baby. I was able to keep my composer but had to leave earlier than anticipated. Got home and balded on my bed. DH didn't even want to hold her baby. He held her for a few seconds and quickly gave her back. I think he did that for my sake. The WHY questions are resurfacing in my mind. I'm trying to counteract those thoughts with the promises of God. Why do I feel this way? Bummer

So I had a dream last night that I announced that I am pregnant. It was as clear as day and I remember every second of it. It would be my luck that I would get preggers the month before I start my treatments. Or its just on my mind so much that I am now dreaming about it.

Randi - how are the mood swings. I'm not looking forward to that. I am so emotional anyway. I should just carry around a box of tissues with me. LOL.

well the mood swings and the bruising in my stomach are unexpected but i will do what i have to. i have been able to laugh through horrible tears and cry over crap... obviously i am a very emotional person and the lupron has just helped that along... so i take my last BCP on thursday and will continue to take the lupron injection at 10 units until Sept. 3rd then on the 4th my lupron will drop to 5units and the Gonal F at 225units with microdose ovidrel at 10units. all of these meds i understand will cause some awesome side effects but it is all worth it. the lupron does burn a little. So i am hoping that i haven't cursed my cycle or chance at getting my BFP by just window shopping for the new style maternity clothes. i have not purchased anything, just was looking to be real positive. Like having that attitude of I Know it will work. Figure you couldnt be more positive than that, just looking for someones opinion. I actually feel all alone with being on the injections my husband doesn't understand, or he may and i just dont understand what they go through. i just found out that my starbucks drink has 660 calories, yikes, oh well. I quit smoking about  30 days ago after 12years of smoking and did it cold turkey so i guess if i could do that any side effects from medications are worth going through. sorry for the ramble but have no one to talk to since my DH is in class tonight. LaPoo- Did they give you results. i know when i had my SHG done it was very painful. since i had cervical cancer 5 years ago, and am missing a cervix. So hopefully it was not painful for you.

Getting ready to head out for a few days vacation in the mountains, heading west to salmon arm, bc! Should be fun...knowing my luck af will show then as we are camping (tenting it) LOL!!! Hello- I'm new to this site.. going to be doing IVF for the first time in Sept. Started on Lupron Aug 19th. Everything is going well so far... lots of meds and shots which surprisingly the anxiety I had about giving myself shots quickly disappeared when I stopped thinking about it and just did it. The anticipation is driving me nuts though about all of the baby dust excitement! Trying to remain positive because I am usually a realist, and for unknown reasons to me I feel this is going to work first time for us... nervous but very exciting.... thanks for reading- I don't have really anyone to talk to about this since no one I personally know understands or has gone through this before... just a few alone feeling so thanks again and baby dust to all of us for Sept! :)

hey sorry i haven't been on in a while well like 3 days it looks like noone else has either it is very very quiet, guess you guys are hunting for rabbits?

So i am going to give you guys some advice, I have found an awesome book that cost me about 15 dollars at barnes and noble, it has been great and i hate to read. Its called A Few Good Eggs by Julie Vargo and Maureen Regan. Its about two chicks who dish on overcoming the insanity of infertility. Just another reminder that we are not alone... i recommend it for all of us. its very inspirational.  

So i go to the doctor on Friday and should begin stims on Friday night, only 18 days until my tentative retrieval date it is really starting to fly by. and my injections are beginning to hurt worse and bruise, but i will do whatever i have to to ensure that i will hopefully bring home that bundle of joy around may or june, i am so happy to be on this journey.

Wow your right it is quiet on here. I am finally home after 4 days of rain and 3 days of 70 degree weather. I came home to beautiful sunny and 90 degree days. thank god I live on the beach, I can still enjoy the water.

Randi - wow 18 days is not long at all. I will be thinking of you on friday. I am still waiting for AF. I can feel her right around the corner. She just wont show. I hope she shows before 3 so I can start BCP tomorrow. I still have to find out about insurance too. We are supposed to have it covered at 100% but with my luck something will go wrong.

I have been following all of your conversations, and can't seem to stop admiring the courage of youvall, God bless you all for being fighters, I know he is watching over all of us.  Today I'm so bummed out, this morning I went for my BETA and it came back positive but very low (6) Im supposed to go back on Wednesday but I wont, as I already know what the answer its going to be, Im just going to wait for AF to show up which Im sure will be before the end of the week.  Has anyone had FET the next menstrual cycle? or is a rule that everybody has to wait al least one month? Unfortunately my RE is not very informative and neither is his nurse, so I'm in limbo just learning from you all.  And finally decided to write down something as I see you guys so enthusiatic you are making my tears go away with hope again.    This is my second time in here!!! Any comments are welcome!!!  I guess I'll be ready for FET 3 by mid October.

I guess no news is good news. No call from the doctor's office however the nurse did say my uterus looked fine during the scan. They didn't call me the first time and basically said the same thing "my uterus was fine" soooooo Saturday is my last day of BCP. I have my baseline U/S on the following Wednesday then start Lupron/Stims the weekend. Not looking forward to the Lupron but a girl has to do what a girl has to do.

I've been doing a little exercise and continuing accupuncture FOR NOW. Not sure if I'm going to continue. The accupuncturist wants to increase my treatments to 3xweekly. Well, I just can't afford 3 treatments weekly at $65 a pop. He said my progress was slow. In other words my energy is not yet centered. Well...I may look for other accupuncturist in my area, hopefully someone else is less expensive and i may be able to afford another treatment. We'll see...

Terri - Don't give up, anything over 5 is concidered a positive. I think you should go back on Wednesday, just to make sure. I am sorry you are going through this, I can't imagine how frustrating it is, as this is my first IVF. You should be more pushy :-) Make your doctor answer all your questions. I called my doctor at least 3 times when I had my bloodwork done to find out what it meant. And if they get mad or irritated, I would concider switching doctors b/c you don't need the added stress right now. My thoughts are with you, big hugs.

LaPoo - wow, 3 times a week, that seems a little extreme. My girl wants me to go once a week at $60 a pop. I have my next appointment on Thursday. I will be thinking of you next wednesday. It's so exciting.

As for me - was supposed to get AF yesterday and she hasn't shown yet, although I feel like she will any minute. So DH and I were sitting there and thinking that I have never been late before so I ran to a 24 hour Walgreens and got a hpt. Neg. Of all the times I want that witch to show, she is going to be late. and now its after three so I can't concider this CD1 even if she shows now. ARGGGGGGGG!!!!!! Sorry for the rant. Okay so AF finally showed up. I start my BCP tomorrow and Lupron on the 19th. But they did say that insurance is giving them a hard time so I might not get my meds in time. They said that they will keep me on the BCP until I receive my meds. They said that it does not have a negative impact at all. What a process, huh? Anyway, I am so excited.

Terri- I hope you went back today to have your blood drawn. I have been in your shoes, and I don't wish my out come on anyone. June was our first IVF cycle and it resulted in a pos with Beta of 26 which was very low, went back two days later and they said it rose to 89 which was a great sign to them. But a woman nows her body, I knew something was wrong so when they told me I didnt have to come back until my u/s I said no I will be back on Friday. I went back and it had only went to 91, they knew then that the out look wasnt good and that I was correct.

So, my advise to you is follow your gut and stay positive. You never know what may happen I have read stories of people with a 5 who had twins! Go back and let them make sure all is ok.

I agree with nmenyo- stand up for yourself and make them tell you what is going on and what your options are. It's your body.

I am out of my month wait before I start FET. So, I'm waiting on AF as we speak. My boobs have been hurting for a week ( so of course im praying that we did it on our own) and I'm looking for signs that she is on the way ( or not) so we can move forward.

Just checking in...I don't have anything new to report. I tested positive for strep b, again. Doc is treating me and DH this time. If I test positive again, then I will be on suppression therapy the entire cycle. I'm not surprised based on what I've been reading. I'm a possible carrier for this bacteria but it is treatable. I'll stop BCP this Saturday then baseline US next Wednesday then starting stims on Friday..Yeahhhhhhh Lupron...you all know what I really mean. Stay positive and focused ladies and eat plenty of pineapples!

So i had my doctors appointment this morning all looked good. My nurse called this afternoon to confirm that i start stims tomorrow evening. Called my mom whom still just wants to argue over the fact that I am not coming on the 15th to visit.(sorry I need to vent) So i called my middle sister to tell her about my appointment since she is the only one on my side of the family who gives a junk about me. well then we talked for a while and we both get a message: Our baby sister is Pregnant again. Oh and to top it off my mother is elated about it, it makes me so upset just fyi the baby sister has been married 3 times and has never even had a job and lives in a small camper, She is 23 years old. she has 2 other children who live with their father and she doesn't visit.
I cannot understand why people have to be so hateful to those who are successful around them and why my mother must care so much about the one who has done nothing with her life and throw me and my middle sister under the bus. SORRY SORRY SORRY. i know you guys don't wanna here about this but jeez.

On another note i have decided the rants are due to  the meds. And yipee about sisi's retrieval and yipee my retreival is in 14 days, and I have the week of retrieval off and the week of transfer off of work so that we can try to minimize stress.

How are you ladies doing and maybe we should update everyone on the status of each of us since its been so quiet on here lately.

I am so sorry to hear about your family situation. I know you must feel so aweful. It's just not fair. We found out on the same day that my sister-in-law and younger cousin were pregnant. And to top it off my SIL's due date was the same as ours was before the m/c. Talk about a kick in the pants, huh? TWO WEEKS, wow that went by fast. I hope mine goes by that fast. I am super excited that you have the week off. That will help so much. I know it's family and not the same but we are all here for you and our journeys. I am sorry your family is not as supportive. Hi everyone...  I have been reading your posts and thought I would join in.  My DH and I have been actively TTC for about 20 months.  I have been through 2 IUI cycles(clomid/bravelle/trigger) with BFN's and since my DH's count was low for the last cycle, the RE has decided to move forward to IVF.  AF started today, my birthday(hoping this is a good sign), so I will have B/W and U/S on monday and start BCP if everything is ok.  Still waiting for the insurance to authorize it, hoping I will hear something back in the next 2 weeks, so I won't have to take the BCPs for more then 2 weeks.  All of these 2ww's are driving me crazy.  But if it means we will finally have a little it is all worth it.  

rmartinez - I know exactly what you are going thru.  My sister inlaw who just moved back to our area and already has 1 child, just called me last month to get my opinion on a good OBGYN in our area because she is pregnant.  She knows about all the issues we are having and instead of calling one of her friends she calls me.  Needless to say I was upset considering the situation and also the fact that she only saw her husband 2 days during that month because they were in the moving process and she was able to get pregnant without even really trying.  It just all seems so unfair.  Look now I'm ranting. lol.

krichar - looks like our cycles may be matching up pretty close.

LaPoo - good luck with your stims... please keep me posted with your side effects.  I didn't really have any bad side effects with the clomid/bravelle/hcg.  But have never taken Lupron before.

So i did my gonal f injection 225 units, and my microdose ovidrel 10 units, all about 20 minutes ago neither were bad the worst part was my being stabbed in the end of the thumb, with the little insulin needle while trying to be responsible and recap it to place it in my sharps container. this is so sad, but i guess its ok since the injections themselves didn't hurt. so here is my list of daily medications:

AM
Lupron 5 units
Prenatal vitamin

PM
Baby Aspirin 81mg
Gonal f 225 units
Microdose Ovidrel  10 units

and this shall continue this way until Wednesday when i make another trip to the doctor for a scan and bloodwork... baseline looked awesome, ovaries were completely supressed so lets grow little follies lets grow.

so it looks like i am 2nd in line for retreival and hopefully we will ALL get BFP by November 1st this is so exciting i will have you all in my prayers SSBD and keep us updated on status and with any questions....

Hi Everyone! I'm new here and jumping on board for the IVF September cycle.... all looked great until getting the news from the nurse today- stopping all stim meds other than the Lupron- ovaries are overstimmed and E2 levels are exceding 8000. :( So, until they drop below 4000 no injection of Ovidrel and no egg retrieval. I'm told that I have 'more follicles than they want to count' all at the 15-18mm range. I seriously feel like I'm going to burst. Sorry to rant but does anyone have any suggestions on perhaps something to do to lower the estradial levels??? I'm really looking forward to NOT feeling like the goodyear blimp anymore....

Try Gatorade... I have heard that helps with the bloating. As for getting your numbers down I have No idea... Sorry!

AFM- shg is next Tuesday and blood work for clotting and antibodies all came back normal. So as long as the shg looks good I am in for transfer in October, start my meds in 2 weeks!

I just had my egg retrieval on Mon Sept 6th and will probably transfer on the 9th which happens to be my birthday.  This is our 2nd fresh IVF.  The first resulted in a chemical pregnancy at 5 1/2 weeks.  This time they only retrieved 7 eggs and 5 were fertilized via ICSI.  I now awaiting the dreadful phone call as to when will the transfer be and as to how my 5 eggs are coming along.  Im very worried as last cycle they retrieved 14, 10 were ICSI and 6 made it to day 3 transfer. The remaining 3 never made it to be frozen.  Im sooooo worried as this will be our last attempt due to financial reasons.  We are completely self-pay.  Well ladies wish me luck and pray for us as we need desperately.  I will be 39 tomorrow and time is not on my side.  Good luck to all of you in this same endeavor.

rmartinez2009- I am so sorry to hear that...There is no way to get a loan or something, does your RE offer a payment plan? Don't give up yet until you have exhausted all options, you never know there may be an angel out there.

We had a similar situation way back last july. My dad was going to give us the money (ivf is not covered here, we pay out of pocket) and the day we got the call he bailed. I was devastated, tried to up our credit line, visa's, get a loan but no luck. Tried to sell DH's boat even but nothing. My RE gives you one week to come up with the funds and if you say yes then back out you still owe them $200.

Anywho a friend of mine was also sad that we had come that far and were unable to proceed was telling her mom who had happened to call her the second after i told her. Wierd i know, WELL...her mom gave us the money. I truly believe someone above was listening and answered my prayers and had those chain of events happen. Just keep praying and you never know. It doesn't hurt to ask for help. Maybe a group of people can all pitch in to help. They do say it takes a village to raise a baby! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers

livinginfaith1971 - Welcome.  everything will be great for you.  Stay positive.  I feel you when you talk about self pay and money issues.  I am self pay too.  Our stories are so similar.  This is our second fresh IVF too. I got a BFP back in June but miscarried at 6 weeks. I also got 14 eggs last time, I have 3 frozen but still wanted to try a fresh one again, now that we were able to cause we had the money.  My retrieval was today, 14 eggs again, transfer on the 13th, my doctor believes that a five day blast transfer is better and so thats what we are doing, same as last time.  Im praying for you to get a great call and for your victory tomorrow, we will be 2wwing together, how excited.

My current protocol is:
PNV
Lupron 20units 2xdaily-This little bugger stings
Menopur 75units 1xdaily-This is new from my last IVF but the injection is okay
Gonal F 300units 1xdaily-This is up 50units from my last IVF-grow follies grow
Doxycline 2xdaily for 7 days (me and DH)-Hopefully this rids my Strep B

I'm finally starting the FET process. Started with my patches and Estrace inserts yesterday. I go back on the 20th so they can check on the progress.

We are right there with you on the financial aspect of this journey. Although, I have good insurance and they cover 2 IVF cycles a year. They do not cover meds or the freezing or thawing process. We opted not to do the 2nd fresh cycle yet b/c we had 8 eggs frozen and wanted to see where this would go. The doc said we would only be doing 2 for implantation this time. B/c of my age he does not want to do 3. I'm excited and nervous and praying every day.

wishing you all the best! just had my EC on Saturday- ovaries are super sore and swollen. E2 levels were exceeding 8700 so my cycle has been canceled. Got news today though that 15 eggs were retrieved- out of those we got 8 embies!!! So very excited even though I need to go on lots of other meds now (IV meds daily at the ER office) so assuming AF comes within the next week or so, we can plan on a FET for Nov... hope all of you are doing well with the meds!!! Krichar My ER should be around Columbus day. So the second week of Oct. It's coming up so fast.

had my first ultrasound today since on the stim meds. all looked good. my left ovary had 7-8 follicles but my right is slow to the party. only had about 2-3 and they were very small.

i wonder if this has happened to anyone? got the call tonight from the nurse to keep on the same dose of meds, so noting has changed there. i got back on friday for another ultrasound and then daily until my ER which is tentative for 9/22.

We will probably transfering around the same, well that is if i get the call. My sHG went perfectly...They said i had beautiful "textbook" uterus and i was clear for an Fet this cycle. Which means i should start superfact within the next 2 weeks and transfer around October 20th. Like I said if i get the call. i had my 4th accupunturist appointment today and she suggested i phone them and see what is up so i did. They should phone tomorrow and i will know!!

I think the anticipation was worse :-) My last BCP is Wed and I have to wait for a period or if I don't get one then I will get an u/s and b/w on Oct 2nd and start stim injections. I have to say that even after one shot I am so emotional. I cry at everthing. I think it might be the BCP too, but I am such a big baby right now. Everything is going by so fast. SSBD to all. Hugs

I have been reading lost of forum since I tried my first IUI, but never joined :( I should have because this is very heart warming. I am in my 2WW (beta posted for 9/30) Well, This is my story...I am a mother of 2 beautiful daughters 11& 9, got remarried and my DH has low/motility sperm count (I knew it before marriage) We decided to try this fertility treatments. The RE said because os his results we should be thinking of IVF but we decided to try IUI in case of a miracle...well it didn't work...That was on april 2010..We decided to try IVF because I've telling him eventhough I am "healthy" the more we wait it could be harder. We did the ET the same day of my B-Day (how exciting) BEST Present!!! Eventhough I've been through pregnancies it's actually very amazing how I am now more aware of my bodies reactions than before. I know my body better jajaja..I had an IVF/ICSI had 3embryos transfered on day 3...Feeling very good (I do remember from before I never experienced any preg symptoms until I did HPT. So I'm really not worried about that until I do the test...Wishing you all GOOD LUCK and always keep FAITH, and GOD in your hearts..If it's not ment to be it's because GOD has something else for you!... Thanks for sharing your stories as it has helped kept my mind very busy and knowing theres many of us going through this...

I received a call from embryologist today. 9 of 11 eggs fertilized. I'll know more about the quality tomorrow. 7 of 11 eggs fertilized during my 1st IVF so I'm pleased with my numbers. Transfer is scheduled for Sunday 9/26 at 8:30a. Not sure how many RE will transfer but I'm sure it will be 3 like my last cycle.I also start my progesterone shots tonight and begin taking presnisone for the next 4 days.  

I was chatting with a lady in the waiting room when she told me how another IVF patient only had 2 embies that were of poor quality and my RE had to do a two day transfer for fear of losing both. Well, one of the embies didn't make it but the other one did and split. Now she is pregnant with twins. I thought that was a great story to share with the group.

Magggi-When do you get beta results? Are you going to do a HPT?

I only  retrieved 4 only 2 made it, transfered both and im now almost 12 weeks pregnant with a singleton...Sometimes its not the quantity but the quality. Honestly I was in tears when I found out  only 4 where retrived! But god had a plan for me and I let him do his magic by staing positive and praying alot!

Its possible if you test too early and if your hcg levels arent high enough to be detected in a hpt, Happened to me on my 1st cycle 2 yrs ago. HPT neg,  next day beta 40. Its possible good luck!

I am on my fifth IVF cycle with one miscarriage, and had two embies transferred yesterday, so am on the anxious 2 week wait. I tried acupuncture last time however the frozen embie still didnt attach. I am on Crinone cream for a fortnight but am thinking that i should take it for longer since i have a left over pack at home. the only time i managed to get pregnant, i was taking this progesterone cream.

What does everyone think?

I had 9 follicles, 5 of which fertilized, and 4 didnt. One of the fertilized ones was abnormal so they chucked it away so we were left with only 4. (two transferred and two frozen). Seems like alot to go through for only 2 spares.

Hi, everyone,  i just joined this website yesterday... i'm doing my transfer this saturday oct2.  This would be my second attempt....a little excited and a little nervous:)  my endometrium is a little thinner than it should be at the moment (7mm).. still under medication, hoping that it would be thickened some more in next a few days. Im really good, today im 12 WKS and im so happy! I feel like im dreaming. You have seen all I have been through and to know Its finally happening.. Its just a blessing!

To all-

Things I did different for my succesful ivf cycle-

1- Acupunture
2- Drank lots of water
3- Took femara & Estradiol from the day I started B/C until baby was seen on u/s.

congrats to the BFP's!!  i am 3dp5dt today and am really not liking this long wait until my beta on 10/4. had the transfer on saturday (which was our 6 year wedding anniversary!) and we transferred 2 great embyos. all went well and had my bed rest. the lab called yesterday and 2 others made it to freeze, so we were very happy.

so, now i wait and am so glad i have you all to wait with :) of course i am taking every symptom i am having and magnifying it times 100. been crampy the last few days- so we will see what happens.

anyone going to test at home prior to their  BETA?

I am in the same boat. My beta is scheduled for the 11th of October. all of our failed IVF attempts amplifies the long wait and i know how you feel. every little thing i am analysing hoping that it may be a sign!

Good luck and yes, i will probably get tempted to do a home preg test next week before my beta.

Hello- I'm new to this site.. We are doing IVF for the first time in Sept.
I'm 31 DH 49,DD 6yrs. I had my egg retrieval 9/22. i had 7 follicles, ended up gettiing 8 eggs.
Heard from Dr.7 fertilised. 5/5 ICSI & 2/3 IVF. now just waiting to hear if we do a Day 3 or day 5 transfer.I start the crinone tomorrow..bit aprehensive.
9/25 - Well, we ended up doing a day 3 (8cell) embryo transfer...but i have contracted OHSS...oh so painfull & uncomfortable! I'm just starting to be able to go back to work (i only work in an office) today 5 days later. Having to inject myself with Clexane every day..not nice! also persist with the Crinone not to mention having to take 2 little white pills with food morning and night (pregnislone?). Anyway, countdown til testing day.8th Oct. Fingers crossed!

well, we got a BFP!!!!!  went in for my second beta today and it tripled from 108 (original beta on monday) to 349 today. I was so relieved but i dont think it has sunk in yet! we will have our first u/s in 2 weeks....so im staying positive and trying to take one day at a time. oh, and i did cheat and took some HPT's on sunday before my first beta...which all came back BFP. i still didnt believe it.
