Cycle buddies

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd start a thread for anyone who'd like to join me in obsessing, venting and sharing this cycle. For all my cycle buddies from previous threads, I hope to hear from you...and I'd also love to welcome any new TTC friends!

Here's where I'm at this month. I'm CD10 today and have my CD12 sonogram on Friday. Just like last cycle, I took femara days 3-7, and a 75 IU shot of menopur on days 3, 5 and 7. Hoping to do an IUI this weekend.

Here's to a "fruitful" holiday season with lots of BFPs!!!

I had IUI this after noon. I'm taking hcg booster shots so RE says not to test before Dec 26... the booster shots are a lower dose hcg so I will probably poas before then :)

Yay! I hope this IUI did the trick for you! Maybe you'll get your BFP on Christmas!!! If you cheat and test a day early, that is ;-) Lots of luck to you, too!

I've actually been spotting today...and it's red, not brown. Very strange, as I'm only CD10. It seems to be tapering off, though. Wonder if it could have something to do with BD'ing this a.m. Oh, well...guess I'll just have to wait and see if it's gone tomorrow.

Hi girls! Well, the CD12 sono went OK. I'm a little disappointed, though. I only had one mature follicle at 23 and two smaller ones at 15 and 16. Last month when my IUI was cancelled I had three all around 20! My RE said it's because I only take three shots early in the cycle. Basically, after I stop taking them, my brain still tries to select one dominant one. BUT, I learned something new today. He said, he wants to ignore the mature follicle and focus on the two smaller ones. He said if the larger one ovulates, the smaller ones should too once I take the HCG shot. So basically, even if I have a natural LH surge, and even ovulate the large follicle, I can still trigger tomorrow night and release the two smaller ones as well. So I'm going back tomorrow, and hopefully the smaller ones will continue to grow. Anywhooo, that's the update on me...

Hello Heather so how did everything go??? I'm not too sure on IUI as have only done IVF it's not that common here.. So forgive me if i ever ask a stupid question... So is it now you have to wait the two weeks since you had a trigger??? Do they just injection good swimmers and let them find there way????

Well all is well with me, having a christmas party today with friends then a work do on Monday.. So i'm in the christmas spirit compared to last year... Just wanting the new year to begin though..

Went to re's office today and I have 4 on the right (12,12,11,10) e2 is 302 and 1 on the left (14)...(no tube so who cares...lol) I go back on Thursday for more bw/us re's office said iui should be Friday or Saturday...will keep you guys posted :) Baby Dust!

Sorry I haven't been on in a few days. I'm just having another disappointing cycle. After having three mature follicles last cycle and having the IUI cancelled, I only had one this cycle. The two smaller ones did not continue to grow, and the one mature egg released on its own before I had a chance to do the IUI. Grrrr! We did BD, though, so hopefully we got it in time before it released. Not too hopeful for this cycle, though... Oh well.

Ingy: Yeah, with the IUI they wash the sperm sample and basically insert the best swimmers straight into your uterus. But like you said, they have to find their way and fertilize the egg on their own. The trigger is usually given about 36 hours before the IUI and ovulation takes place...so similar to when you'd have the IVF retrieval. And the 2WW would then start after ovulation. Hope that makes sense ;-)

bfromthed: Sounds like things are looking really good on your end! Best of luck with the IUI towards the end of the week!!! Do you mind sharing how much and how often you're taking gonal-f and menopur? Just wondering, since I have a feeling my RE wants to be a bit more aggressive next time around...although I'm still hoping there won't be a next time, if you know what I mean ;-)

Done ever hesitate to ask me anything thats what we are here for even things that one may say  is tmi not on this site because we are trying for miricles!!

Gonal f was 75 units for 4 days and 75 menopur went bk and they increased gonal f to 112.5 and 75menopur this is when I had the 4 follies so thats where I am at as far as now...in tomorrow for more bw/us

They are going slow this month because last 2 montths ago I over responded and had the 21 follies and 17 wre still there with the next cycle thats why they gave us a month off :) Good Lusk...will post tomorrow after visit.

Ok here we go went to re's office today and e2 is 497 on the right I have 4 follies two 16's,14,11 and on the left two 13's (no tube) Gonal F 112.5, 75 Menopur tonite, tomorrow just 75 Menopur and Ovidril at 9pm Saturday Night and IUI 9am Monday morning...had anyone taken Ovidril and waited 36 hours to have iui done?

Hi there, well I am gonna jump on this thread with all of you. I had my IUD removed Nov 10 and had a regular period on Dec 1. This was great as I had not had one since April 2006, due to pregnancy, nursing and then the IUD. So for me a period was awesome..

I had a positive OPK yesterday and of course BD at the right times. So I am 1dpo. If no baby this month next month I go back onto Clomid which is what I need to get preggers with my daughter who will be 2 on Dec 26...   So cool if Tanker Chic got a BFP on that day..

spoc: I don't think the symptoms are much different after an IUI that it is in a natural cycle, but any medication you have been taking (or are taking, if you're on progesterone) could affect your symptoms. I added you to the list below. Best of luck this month!

İ was just reading your posts.  İve been TTC for 3 months now after an ectopic pregnancy were my left fallopian tube ruptured and i had to have it removed back in July there.  
My doctor last week prescribed me progesteron to take 2 days after ovulation for 10 days, but the problem is im having problems pin pointing when i ovulate so dont want to take the tablets incase i muck up my cycle.  
Has anybody else here tane progesteron before or heard of it.  İm charting my BBT and yesterday my temp went right up but today went right back down again.  İ thought your temp was supposed to stay up during the lutuel phase.  My EWCM stopped about 3 days agao.  İm just really confused with everything.  
İ noticed you were speaking about Birthdays, mines is on Dec 28th and this is the day my periods are due.  Lets just hope i get the best birthday present, a + preg test.

Lisa: Welcome to our thread! I've taken progesterone after ovulation before, but only twice and I was monitored by an RE and used a trigger shot, so I knew I had ovulated by the time I started taking them. If you're not monitored, I think they say to wait until you've had three elevated temperatures before starting progesterone. I checked out your ovulation tracker, but it hasn't been updated for a few days. If you update it, I'll be more than happy to take a look at it for you ;-) Oh, and I added you to the list below...for now I just put CD19, since you're not sure about when or if you ovulated yet.

Quinns momma: Wow! That's odd! I just hurt my back today too! We've been painting, and I think I might have pulled something, because my lower back is all out of whack right now. Hopefully it'll go away soon, because I have a lot to do this weekend before my DH's family get into town on Monday!

Hey, thanks for ur reply.  
For some reason i had 2 ovulation trackers on my page, ive delected the 1 i wasnt using.  İ would like if you could look at my tracker because i cant make heads or tails from it.  Woke up this morning with sharp pains on my right hand side and EWCM again so im thinking i might be ovulating today.  İt makes me sooo stressed out getting mixed signs all the time.

İ have a 4 year son and my husband and i got pregnant first month and when i got pregnant with the ectopic it happened 2nd month.  But when i was TTC with them i didnt know about ovulation signs, BBT and CM etc, so i wasnt stressed out and we just made love when we wanted and it happened.  But now i think knowing too much information can sometimes be bad thing cos it totally stresses me out not knowing what my body is up to.  İ think im just having a bad though cos i thought i ovulated the other day and now im getting ovulating signs again.  God what a moan i am.
İf its ok can you have a wee look at my tracker and see what you think.  Thank you.

Lisa: That's a tough one... It have to agree that it does look like you ovulated, since your temperatures have been going up for a while now...but it's been a gradual climb, with some up and down temperatures, so it's hard to say when. Hmmm! Also, the side pain and EWCM are throwing things off a bit too. Is it stretchy or more watery? If it's watery, then I've had that in my 2WW before. Just in case, though, I would BD again today. Just a quick question i took my ovidriil injection last night but I have been having small cramps on each side since earlier yesterday and my iui is tomorrow??? I have never paid atttention to o pain before until I kept reading the threads to start paying attention too it??? Am I too late for iui tomorrow?

bfromthed: Since you're being monitored, I wouldn't worry about it. It's probably just your ovaries "aching" a little from the expanding follicles. When was your last checkup and did you trigger last night?

ALL: Well today was my IUI day and all went well...I am really achy...it was more on my left (no tube) but now its on the right too (tube in great shape) so I hope the right is taking over! DH's count was 103 million after wash (what's a good number?) and 99% motility so they are swimming away we are planning on bd'n tonite and tomorrow to make sure our bases are covered. I took off work today to make sure I could just rest...wish us luck we are now officially in the dreaded 2ww! :)

I stopped my BCPs on Saturday, and my AF hasn't come yet.  Hopefully it will come tonight or tomorrow.  I do not want to push my cycle start date later :~(  Bring on the period!!!  :)  Any how, still taking Lupron.   I have cramps and my back is killing me, so hopefully this is a sign of AF.

Yippeee!  AF came this morning.  Now I am waiting for a call from my RE's office.  I was supposed to call them and let them know day 1, but that was at 10:30 and still no call from them;  Must be very busy :~)

Lots of belly pain!!!!  Bloated to the max more pain on the left than the right?? I had a left over follie on that side that was a 33 at the time of iui but the re said no tube on that side lets go for it since the right had developed so well...ooouuuucccchhhh!!!!

I feel great today the mildest discomfort ever...I can sit, pee, walk with no pressure..nips are sensative from Ovidril so I can just sit and count the hours go by...Happy Holidays to all

How is all?  
Not sure when i ovulated but im def in the 2WW so just but me down as that.  İ have stopped recording my BBT because it was an ear therm that i was using and dont think it was very accurate.  İ always got different temps in each ear and so on.........  
Had sharp cramps today on both sides and slightly into the middle.  Does that mean anything?  İ think i must be around 7 dpo, but thats just a guess.  Do you count the day of ovulation as 1 or the day after as 1 since its 'dpo (days past ovulation)'.
İts my birthday tomorrow.  İ thought my periods were due tomorrow but i got it wrong.  So will try and wait another 4 days till i take a test because i cant stand the wait, but im not expexting a positive, but no harm in hoping.  İ think ive already prepared myself for a negative because ive lost hope.
When i was pregnant back in the summer with the ectopic i must have signed up to a site and i got an email from them today saying you now 32 weeks and it hit me like a ton of bricks.  But i just have to thank god for my life and hopefully i will be able to concieve (conceive) and have a healthy baby if gods willing.

Lisa: Cramps around 7 dpo can definitely be a good sign, since many women have implantation around that time. I'm crossing my fingers for you! Have a great birthday tomorrow!!!

This is my first time with IVF, I started BC on 20/Dec and will start Lupron on Jan 9th. I am not sure how this whole process works but reading all your postings have helped me a ton.

I think I am going to wait until Wed or Thur. I like you hate to test and get a BFN. Might actually wait until period is late. Tests cost too dang much money. I did test positive at 12dpo with my daughter.

What symptoms are u having if any besides sore bbs?

Nothing other than the sore BBs. Had I had some cramping, I probably would have been more eager to test...but we'll see! Wednesday or Thursday are both good days to test. What better way to celebrate the New Year than with a BFP!!!

I am now 6dpiui and been hot flashing, having little twinges here and there, no sore bbs or nausea...I have been peeing lots and appetite is increased its hard to tell if those are good signs since I do that when I am pmsing anyway,..also a little more tired and moody than usual...I just wanted to update...progestrone test tomorrow I will post the reults after 12noon...baby dust!!! :)

Bfromthed: Wow! 58.3 is a very high number! I hope that means it's a BFP!!!

Quinns Momma: No, I haven't tested yet. My temp was exactly 98 this a.m., and usually it's above 98 in the 2WW, so I'm thinking it means my progesterone levels are dropping and AF is on her ugly way :-( Your symptoms sound very promising, though!!!

I am now cd24 and 8dpiui and woke up again very warm this a m so I decided to take my temp and it was 97.9 yesterday and 98.0 today???? I dont know how to compare it because I never temp myself I just read where a few other people do so I gave it a try......I'm having creamy cm and thats it still no cramps no sore bbs just sensative nips, hot and cold spells...I know that I may not have even implanted yet so Im still keeping hope because I never lose faith!...I am going to get a dollar store hpt to see if the hcg is out of my system not to check for pg so then I will now when I do test again that it will not be from the ovidril when I get my bfp...Keep me in your prayers and God Bless!

Hi all, 13dpo and started spotting dark brown when I wipe which for me usually means AF is on her way. Was hopeful this month as temps still up this morning but I am sure they will be down tomorrow.

Well, looks like I'm out :-(  Only 97.47 this morning, so she (AF) should probably be here sometime today. Arrrgh! It's been a year and three months now since my last miscarriage. I'm starting to get really discouraged...

bfromthed: You know, everyone's "normal" temperature is different and around 98 might just be your normal after-O temperature-range. Plus, even if it wasn't, some people see a temp dip at implantation, and since you're only 8 dpo, it could be that too.

Quinns momma: Don't give up yet...especially since your temps are still up. I'll be crossing my fingers for you!

Heather:  I know it's really hard, just don't give up, I am sending you all my positive vibes.  This is your year too!!!  You'll see....

I started my 150 Gonal-F this am, and will be taking, 75 Menopur and 10 units Lupron, in the evening.  I've never taken Gonal-F.  I took Follistim the first time around.  I take it does almost the same thing as Follistim.  I will continue these three meds until Jan. 4th when I go back for my appointment.  From there, it's checking daily to see how my eggs are growing and hopefully my retrieval/transfer will be within that week or the beginning of the following week.  I am so happy to have such good supporting friends on here, and I am sending all the baby dust and positive vibes your way too!  I will keep you all posted.

Dang it I am so sorry.  Was hoping it would be our month...  Spotting/discharge is picking up so I know AF will be here shortly.

I will start Clomid 50mg on Thursday cd 3.   I wanted to try one month natural but since it did not work back to the meds I go. :)

I took a dollar store hpt (not looking for bfp) just to see if it was neg to make sure trigger shot was out of my system and its neg so I am just waiting out my time I am cd 24 and 8dpiui......god bless

Thank you guys so much! She's here...sigh! Just got off the phone with my RE, so I'll have my next baseline tomorrow (they're closed on the 1st). Guess I'll be moving back down to the bottom of the list. I'll be curious to see what my RE suggests tomorrow, though. He might give me the big IVF talk... Not sure, since my last two cycles were kinda  messed up with cancelled IUIs. I'll let you guys know tomorrow.

Sorry she came and thanks for the encouragement i am losing steam though becaus th same way that I have chills on and off before af is now what I am doing...cold hands, nose, and feet but I refuse to throw the towel in til the bitter end! Keep me posted with what the re says...are you going to do ivf? I wish we could afford it insurance covers no part of it and at my re's office they have a payment plan 5,000 down and 500 a month for 11 months... Thats way out of our range right now seeing that dh is tied up in the big three mess!! He has been laid off since October and no work in site so he is only getting a portion of his pay...I will keep you posed :)

Bummed, cannot start Clomid tomorrow after all.  Brown spotting yesterday stopped early and has not resumed so doc is not going to consider yesterday cd1. He wants me to wait until I start spotting red or AF actually begins...

Preg test was BFN so I know I am not preggers. :(

Hi, I would love to join you all... I'm new to all of this... I had IUI on fri (12/26) and am finding this waiting thing soooo hard... it was a natural cycle so there's prob not even any chance for this month but I can't help hoping/dreaming... which will really be bad when big bad AF comes around... any ideas how to stay sane???
it's great to know you're all here going through this too (although I hope we're all past this soon)

Still no period but im afraid to test incase of BFN.  İ like the feeling that i could be, but think they are coming as very bad skin break out and my CM has changed to sticky/creamy and mild cramps.

As for me, I had my baseline yesterday, and no cysts. My RE wants us to take a month off of meds and monitoring and just do a SA next week. Then depending on how that looks, either do a full-blown injectable/IUI cycle next month (as opposed to only three shots which I've been doing for the past three months)...or move on to IVF. So we'll see how things look next week. Either way, the costs will be going up considerably, so hopefully it works! I'll probably still try on my own this month, though, just using OPKs and temping. Who knows, maybe I'll be one of those women who end up getting pregnant the cycle before they move on to IVF.......I wish!

I'm 22 years old, recently married.  I have had 5 miscarriages, a 6 month long AF that ended in emergency surgery, then I was finally diagnosed with PCOS.  I'm getting ready to start round 2 of clomid tomorrow.  I'm hoping that it works!!

especially given that I just found out that my sis is pregnant... i can't even figure out how I feel about that... i'm really happy for her (and for my mom who's waiting for a grandchild) but its really hard... yesterday was her 2 month anniversary... so its not like she was trying... i'm also not sure if i'm happy that i know this early (she only knows for a week and can't be more than 6 weeks along...)
at least i didn't cry when she told me... we went out and it "came up in conversation" and of course i'm sworn to secrecy so i can't even let it out...
which is why its so good that you're all out there...

Actually, I think we all deserve a nice, long NINE-MONTH break from AF!!! Hopefully it'll happen soon!

Well, my period started Jan 2nd after I had a miscarriage on Dec 27th, last year.  The period got real heavy then never stopped.  Lots of bad clots. So i finally got in to the doctor. They tried putting me on a ton of bc pills.  Nothing worked.  So finally they told me I could try another 3 months of pills or have surgery.  Obviously I chose surgery.  It had already been 6 months and I was badly anemic.  When she got in there for my D&C, she found that I had a BUNCH of damage and scar tissue from my previous miscarriages that my previous dr never took care of.  That's why we are trying for a baby right now.  Our new dr doesn't know how much longer my body will be able to carry a child full term.  She did what she could and she said that right now my uterus is healthy enough to carry full term.  Just...as I get older it's just going to get worse.  So that's why we're on clomid.  Well.. that and I have PCOS.  I was diagnosed about 2 months ago.

Oh, I see! Well, I'm glad everything is looking good now then. Must have been pretty scary to be bleeding for that long. Hopefully clomid will do the trick for you so you can get your BFP soon!

Hello ladies!  Hopefully everyone is having a good beginning to the new year. My RE recommended me to do accupuncture with this cyle since it does increase blood flow to the ovaries and such....it's sooo relaxing and would recommend it to everyone.   I also just found out, by my accupuncturist that Gonal F helps you produce less eggs, but higher quality.  I guess that made complete sense to me, considering with Follistim I had produced 21 eggs and 17 fertilized, but the quality of the eggs were not great.  So anyhow, just thought that was good information to share with all of you.

mrspace24:  I too have PCOS.  Was diagnosed about 3-4 years ago.  So trying to conceive has been a nightmare, but that will change this month....fingers crossed.  I couldn't help, but read about your doctor's visit....what a jerk!  Anyways, I hope everything works out for you. sending lots of BBD :~)

mwhitcomb- Thanks so much for your kind words.  Yes that doctor was awful.  But it's over now.  We are starting clomid tonight now!  My dr. called and said to take it before I go to bed to help with the nausea it gave me last month.  I'm hoping that it works this month.  I'm trying to stay positive. It's hard because everyone around me is getting BFP's.  But what can I do?  At least the work day is almost over for me!  Just 15 more minutes and my weekend officially starts!!!

I think I am out of the race this cycle...11dpiui and NO SYMPTOMS but af symptoms my temp has started to slowly trend down too....I broke and took a hpt today and it was bfn...Going to the movies to see 7pounds with dh to try and relax...will keep you guys posted...God Bless!

Hi all,
Had brown discharge yesterday and then it was away by last night.  Nothing this morning but i can feel my periods coming.  Hope they dont though.  İm on CD34.  İf nothing by this afternoon might go for a blood test.  Cos if it was implantation bleeding which its prob not it would be too early for a HPT.  Fingers crossed.

Are we going to start a new thread?  Keep me posted.
